Chapter 36 - Chapter 038

The air was stiflingly hot, so much so that the spectators could barely keep their eyes open.

"Boom!!"

A thunderous explosion rang out.

Everyone saw dust and debris erupt into the air, leaving behind a massive crater.

As the smoke cleared, they noticed that in front of Gu Yi stood a shield unlike any other mage's—thicker, denser, and far more solid.

However, after that impact, the shield could no longer be maintained.

The spear dissipated soon after the collision, its purpose fulfilled.

Both of them grew serious, and the atmosphere turned tense.

The Mirror Dimension began to shift. The surrounding environment warped as if blocks were stacking and rotating over one another.

A massive magic array appeared in the sky. Its shape was strange—forming the character "Di."

The onlookers gasped. This wasn't any spell they had ever learned.

Seeing this, Gu Yi was shocked. This was no longer just a spell written on paper.

It required an understanding of the origin of magic—and immense mental power to cast.

Gu Yi could feel the energy contained within the formation.

Golden lightning soon emerged from the array, each bolt as thick as an oil barrel.

"Crack!!"

The thunder roared deafeningly.

The sheer power of the lightning filled the spectators with fear.

"Would you dare offend a girlfriend like that?" Strange asked Carl again, utterly stunned. Compared to what he had seen earlier—mages practicing in the open—this was on a completely different level.

"She's very gentle," Carl replied, his eyes never leaving Di Wen. If danger arose, he would rush in instantly.

Strange looked unconvinced. He had heard stories at Kamar-Taj about the princess—mischievous, lively, beautiful, and adorable—but "gentle" was never a word he remembered.

Carl noticed his disbelief but didn't explain.

Only he could feel Di Wen's gentleness. She simply didn't like to show it.

The battle continued, escalating to an astonishing level.

A faint red glow flickered across Gu Yi's brows—noticed by no one but Carl.

Gu Yi clasped his hands together.

An invisible pillar of energy shot from the ground into the sky, piercing the center of Di Wu's magic array.

The lightning dispersed. The formation collapsed.

Gu Yi broke the lightning formation and went on the offensive.

With a wave of his hands, countless stones surged toward Di Wu, stacking into a towering wall over a hundred layers high.

The spectators stared at the massive wall, feeling like ants before it—ready to be crushed at any moment.

The pressure alone was overwhelming, even for them, let alone Di Wu.

The wall moved swiftly. Before anyone could react, Di Wu was buried beneath it.

The crowd grew excited—but Carl did not.

"Bang!"

The stone wall shattered.

The formation before Di Wu crushed all the rocks into dust.

Relief spread through the crowd.

But the formation didn't stop.

A massive arm, dozens of meters long, extended from the array.

Carl immediately recognized it—it was Di Wen's.

This was another one of her self-created spells.

Today alone, she had used several, completely surpassing the realm of ordinary mages.

Though part of it was influenced by the spiritual power of Oshtur.

Gu Yi struck the ground with his palm.

"Boom…"

Golden chains erupted from the earth, binding the arms. The remaining chains surrounded Di Wu, restraining her completely.

Di Wen remained calm, her gaze sharp.

With a strange gesture of her right hand, another magic array appeared beneath her feet. Pillars of light rose along its edges, blocking the chains.

She withdrew her left hand and formed another peculiar gesture.

A massive formation—over a hundred meters tall—appeared before them.

Inside it stood a figure.

"What is that?"

"Looks like someone's inside…"

"Is that… Princess Di Wen?!"

The crowd buzzed with shock.

Then the formation shifted.

"Boom!"

A foot stepped out.

The earth trembled.

"My god…"

"It can come out?!"

"What kind of spell is this?!"

Gasps filled the air as the figure fully emerged.

She stood a hundred meters tall, clad in ancient battle robes. Her hair flowed like a living being in the wind. Her face was identical to Di Wu's—like a celestial goddess descended upon the world.

Gu Yi watched from afar, his expression growing more serious.

The energy within this giant Di Wu was beyond imagination—even he would be injured if careless.

The giant raised her slender hand.

The surrounding space began to compress. The ground started collapsing.

Gu Yi spread his arms, restoring space to normal.

Before he could act again, the giant hand slammed down.

"Boom!!"

The ground surged forward like a tsunami.

Gu Yi crouched, pressing his hands to the ground.

A red glow flickered across his brows again.

The wave halted five meters before him, as if blocked by an invisible wall.

He formed another seal.

A formation appeared in the sky, releasing a rain of sharp swords.

This was a desperate measure—but necessary to break the stalemate.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

The giant Di Wu raised her left hand, forming a massive shield that blocked the sword rain.

Her right hand clenched.

A cutting wind swept across the battlefield, flattening everything above the ground.

Gu Yi waved his hand—the wind vanished instantly.

The spectators watched in awe.

The battle was evenly matched.

Though Di Wu seemed to have the upper hand, she was expending far more energy maintaining her massive form.

The giant stepped forward, holding a spear, and stopped fifty meters from Gu Yi.

She thrust it forward.

The spear seemed to pierce space—and time itself.

To others, it looked slow—but that was merely an illusion caused by its overwhelming momentum.

The tip ignited from air friction.

Gu Yi raised his shield.

He couldn't dodge.

"Boom!"

A deafening blast erupted.

A violent storm followed, forcing many mages to raise shields.

Gu Yi was knocked to the ground. His shield shattered.

The giant raised her spear again and smashed it down.

Even stronger than before.

Gu Yi reached toward the Eye of Agamotto.

He hadn't dared to use time magic earlier—the spear contained too much of Di Wen's power.

Time couldn't stop it.

Now, as the spear hovered just meters above him—

Time froze.

The giant dispelled the time effect with a spell.

But Gu Yi had already escaped.

"Boom!"

The spear struck the ground, carving a massive canyon hundreds of meters deep.

After this strike, the giant disappeared.

The battle ended.

Both stood there, pale—drained of magical energy.

"Bravo!"

The spectators erupted into applause.

They were utterly shocked.

This battle shattered their understanding of what mages could do.

Di Wu's spells were visually overwhelming—far beyond Gu Yi's in sheer spectacle.

This was a battle they would never forget.

A battle that would forever be remembered in Kamar-Taj.
