Chapter 18 - Justice from the Ashes of Brotherhood

The summit had turned into an apocalyptic wasteland under the weight of the war. Fire, water, and dark energy intertwined, carrying the cold wind of death through the air. Nahid gathered his remaining strength one last time, his eyes resolute yet filled with pain. Nicat's eyes held nothing but hatred and mockery, but this battle was spiraling toward an end that would change the three brothers forever.

With a sudden burst of speed, Nicat lunged at Nihad, carving a deep wound across his chest with a powerful blow. Nihad collapsed to the ground, but he was not dead. He struggled to breathe, yet a flicker of light remained in his eyes. Nahid's heart shattered as he watched Nihad fall.

"Nihad!" Nahid cried out. "We can end this! We must do this together!"

Nicat smiled derisively, feeling as though he possessed a power capable of unmaking the world. "Three who were once brothers, now fighting to annihilate one another," he said. "The weak die, Nahid. You are merely temporary obstacles."

Nahid looked at Nihad with a determined expression. "I am trusting you one last time," he said. "Pin him down with your water power, and I will bring his end."

Nihad struggled to his feet, summoning his elemental power to create a massive wave. The wave attempted to bind Nicat in place, but Nicat shattered the water with his dark energy and retreated swiftly. However, this time Nihad intensified his focus, twisting the water into a vortex that constricted Nicat's movement.

"Nicat, I will stop you!" Nihad screamed, channeling his energy to its absolute peak.

But Nahid decided to make one final, desperate move to mobilize all his strength. His eyes reflected a mixture of agony and resolve. "I cannot stop this," he thought. "But I must do something; there is no other way."

Raising his hand, Nahid began to chant the forbidden spell he had learned from his master. The flames formed a colossal incantation, rising around him like a tidal wave of doom. These flames surged outward, blanketing a radius of 13 kilometers from the summit. It was an attack of such magnitude that it completely drained Nahid's life force, capable of incinerating everything in its path.

Nihad looked at Nahid one last time. "I'm sorry," he whispered, a single tear tracing down his cheek. "But this is your choice."

And then, the massive explosion of fire swallowed everything. As the flames engulfed everyone and everything, Nihad collapsed under the heat. The blast scorched every corner of the summit. The final remnants of light surrounding Nihad's body vanished into the inferno.

In the aftermath of the explosion, the summit fell into a deathly silence. Nahid fell to the ground, his strength utterly spent. Looking toward the spot where Nihad's body had disappeared, he whispered, "Finally... it's over..."

Nicat was on the brink of death; his body was completely charred, and his black sword trembled in his hands. Nahid stood up one last time, having left everything behind. As their eyes met through the darkness, Nicat raised his blade for one final strike and plunged it into Nahid's heart.

"If I am to die, you shall die with me," Nicat rasped with his final breath before collapsing.

Feeling the black blade in his heart, a tear fell from Nahid's eye. "Justice... Justice..." he murmured one last time. His life flashed before his eyes like a film strip. "I couldn't succeed..."

Finally, everything went dark. Staring down at the black sword pierced through his heart, Nahid drew his last breath. And so, the war concluded at the summit, haunted by the ghosts of three brothers.
