After a while, Minato comforted Kushina, who was so anxious she was almost in tears.
"Kushina, it's alright. Haven't I already returned? As long as I'm back, everything will get better."
Kushina nodded. "Minato, you can't make me worry anymore."
Minato nodded.
Kushina stood up and pointed at the Third Hokage, saying, "Old Monkey, you are not allowed to let my Minato go deal with Uchiha Madara again."
Kushina's words were somewhat disregarding the bigger picture; after all, Minato was a candidate to become the Hokage.
His Flying Thunder God Technique was currently the Village's best weapon against Madara. If he didn't deal with Madara, could anyone else do it?
But seeing as Kushina was in a fit of rage, the Third Hokage let her vent her anger.
The Third Hokage nodded repeatedly. "Fine, fine, Kushina, we'll do as you say. I won't let Minato deal with Uchiha Madara anymore."
Kushina's expression softened upon hearing this.
In truth, she was also lying to herself. With Minato's sense of responsibility, could he really stand by and ignore his comrades?
Even if he lost an arm, he would still go to fight and support his partners.
Kushina was angry at herself. Why didn't she have the power to protect Minato?
And there was the child in her belly.
If only she weren't pregnant, she could try to control the Nine-Tails power and join the battle.
Minato touched Kushina's face and said, "Kushina, don't worry, everything will be fine."
Kushina looked at the smile on Minato's face. Although it was night, Minato's smile was as warm and heartening as sunlight.
It made anyone who saw it feel unconsciously encouraged by his confidence.
Everything would be fine!
But then Kushina gave Minato two big slaps across the face.
"Minato, you've lost an arm now. How can you expect me to be at ease?"
Kushina suddenly thought of something and turned to look at Mikoto. "Mikoto, quickly bring out White Zetsu. I want to give Minato a brand new arm."
Hearing this, everyone was shocked.
Mikoto took out the sealed White Zetsu clones and used Genjutsu to control it to walk to Minato's hospital bed.
The Third Hokage stepped forward to clarify Kushina's intentions. "Kushina, what do you plan to do to Minato?"
Kushina pointed at the White Zetsu clones and said, "Minato is missing an arm now. I want to transplant White Zetsu's arm onto Minato's body."
"Just like Obito!"
Everyone looked at Obito. Obito sensibly lifted his clothes, revealing the White Zetsu half of his body on the right.
Kushina then explained her plan. If using a scientific transplant, it would be like Obito's.
They would cut off the White Zetsu clones's arm and then use medical techniques to sew it onto Minato's stump.
White Zetsu cells can adapt to anyone. White Zetsu itself has a function of absorbing others' Chakra to replace them.
At the cellular level, White Zetsu cells can simulate the cells of the recipient and thus become the recipient's organs.
For those with Chakra, especially those with large amounts of Chakra, the transplant is most perfect.
Like Naruto, who lost an arm after the Fourth War in the original work.
This method is considered the most conventional way.
There are also unconventional ones.
In the original work, Madara's arm was hit by Shukaku's Ninjutsu. He then cut off his own arm and directly attached a White Zetsu arm.
Although it looked simple, Madara actually used Yin-Yang Release to fuse the White Zetsu arm onto his stump.
This is a fusion through a technique, which can be said to be the most convenient and perfect fusion.
If Kushina wanted to play it safe, she would use the conventional medical stitching, but that would mean Minato would have to wait a long time.
He would need to let his arm and the White Zetsu organ fully integrate.
If the integration wasn't good, it would lead to the collapse of the White Zetsu artificial body, like what happened with Obito before.
Then there's the issue of balance. White Zetsu cells are always the power of Yang Release. Obito could use the Sharingan to maintain balance.
What could Minato use to maintain balance?
Although he also has the Yin attribute, he's nowhere near as 'Yin' as that Uchiha bunch!
Various drawbacks led Kushina to give up on conventional transplantation and choose to use a Sealing Transplant.
Simply put, it was to treat the White Zetsu clones as a sort of mini-Tailed Beast, using a permeable Sealing Jutsu to seal it within the body.
Then, by using Genjutsu to control the White Zetsu, its Yang Release power would be harnessed to regrow his own organ.
This was different from Obito's method.
Obito sealed Tobi only to obtain Tobi's will to control his own White Zetsu artificial body.
Obito never truly fused with White Zetsu cells; he only used a grafting method to obtain half a body.
He would have to wait until he possessed Six Paths Power to perfectly control White Zetsu cells.
Kushina finished explaining her method.
The Third Hokage asked, "Kushina, have you done clinical trials?"
clinical trials refer to systematic scientific research conducted on human bodies, with the core purpose of verifying the safety and effectiveness of new drugs or treatment methods.
"Well..."
Kushina was suddenly a bit hesitant when asked this, because she had only started researching the combination of Sealing Jutsu and White Zetsu's abilities with Mikoto yesterday.
With only this one White Zetsu, she couldn't just experiment randomly.
"I tested it on a sick dog before, sealing White Zetsu cells into its body, and the experiment was successful."
"That sick dog was cured."
That wasn't what the Third Hokage wanted. "Dogs and humans are different; they cannot be equated."
"Then this, this..."
Kushina didn't know what to say.
Looking at Kushina's careless and impulsive manner, if she were a doctor, she would definitely end up killing a lot of people.
The Third Hokage sighed. "Kushina, I know you're anxious, but don't rush. The Senju Clan is already putting all their effort into researching White Zetsu cells."
"With White Zetsu cells, many disabled Ninjas can find a new lease on life."
"But we also need time to wait until it's completely without side effects before we can give it to Minato."
Konoha's clash with Madara wasn't a total defeat either.
They were also constantly learning from their opponent and arming themselves.
For instance, with White Zetsu cells, the Senju Clan had gone crazy since learning that White Zetsu cells were a derivative of Hashirama cells.
They kept researching White Zetsu cells, wanting to obtain Wood Release power just like Obito.
The Senju Clan's greatest wish has always been to turn Hashirama's Wood Release into the Senju Clan's Kekkei Genkai.
Kushina was a bit dejected. "Fine, I'll do as you say, Old Monkey!"
Kushina also felt that they should be absolutely certain before experimenting on Minato. If they transplanted the White Zetsu clones onto Minato now and it killed him, what would she do?
Unexpectedly, Minato grabbed Kushina's hand and looked at the Third Hokage with a determined gaze. "Hokage-sama, there's no time left!"
"Minato..."
The Third Hokage knew what Minato meant.
Although the Senju Clan had many Medical Ninja, in the field of research, they weren't even fit to hold a candle to Tobirama or Orochimaru.
It would take at least a month to see results.
Would Madara give them that much time?
And regarding the Shinobi Allied Forces, it was estimated that it would be fully formed in about a week, which would be the time for the final battle with Madara
Could Minato afford not to participate?
Konoha needed Minato's Flying Thunder God Technique. Although he was easily defeated by Madara, the Flying Thunder God Technique provided Minato with a margin for error.
If it were the Third Hokage or Jiraiya facing Madara, they wouldn't have a chance of coming back at all.
Minato looked at Kushina. "Kushina, go ahead. I believe in you."
"Minato..."
Kushina was deeply moved. What could be more touching than the blind trust of a loved one?
Now, it was Kushina's turn to try and persuade Minato not to be impulsive.
