"Are you going to explain or…," I trailed off, the words hanging between us, unfinished and heavy with expectation.
The whole weird situation that just happened only made the atmosphere even more suffocating. It clung to the air, thick and uncomfortable, pressing in on me from all sides. And what made it worse was the fact that Louis didn't let go of me immediately.
His hands were still on my waist, firm and unyielding, like he hadn't quite registered that everything had already ended. His chest remained close to my back, the heat of him seeping through me, his breathing slightly uneven like he was holding something in.
Something he wasn't saying.
"Louis," I said again, more firmly this time, my patience thinning. "Let me go if you're not going to say anything. My legs are cramping up." I shifted uncomfortably in his hold, trying to create even the smallest bit of distance.
For a moment, he didn't move.
