Jay's tires crunched against the gravel driveway as he accelerated toward the mansion. The headlights cut through the darkness, illuminating the imposing structure ahead. He parked haphazardly, nearly killing the engine before he'd fully stopped.
The guards recognized his car immediately, waving him through without question. But as he approached the main entrance, two of them stepped forward, blocking his path.
"Mr. Roman doesn't want to be disturbed tonight," the taller one said, his voice firm but respectful.
Jay didn't slow down. "Move."
They exchanged glances but held their ground. "Sir, we have orders "
Jay shoved past them, his shoulder connecting with enough force to make the shorter guard stumble. He didn't look back, didn't hesitate. Tonight wasn't about following Roman's rules. It was about breaking them.
