In response to Landon Hawthorne's surprise, Aria Sterling nodded. "This thing inside my body," she said, "for all these years, my masters and their peers have looked through countless records, but they've never figured out what it is. I have no idea either."
"But we have one thing in common: it wants to take over my consciousness and control my body."
"But it's a bit different from your situation. As long as I don't give in and agree, it can't control me—not unless I agree to make a trade."

Landon Hawthorne gave a wry smile. "It seems we really are connected. Our experiences are so similar. But the Fiend inside your body seems to be a bit more... ethical."
