Aria Sterling wasn't surprised by Julian Grant's answer. In fact, his response only made her feel more pressured.
"Julian..."
He cut her off before she could finish. He started the engine and said, "I know what you're thinking, but you can't control my thoughts, or my heart."
Just that one sentence made his stance clear.
He wouldn't give up on her so easily. Whether she saw him as a friend or something else, he wanted to stay by her side and protect her.
At this point, Aria Sterling knew that anything else she said would be useless. Deep down, Julian Grant was just a stubborn child.
The atmosphere grew a little awkward.
She quickly changed the subject. "Oh, right, did your negotiations with Daybreak Group go through?"
Although the hunting trip Isaac Irving had arranged for them had ended in an accident, she was sure he wouldn't give up on partnering with The Xavier Group and Zenith. After all, they were two huge prizes.
