Chapter 88 - Collecting the goods

Arjun was confused upon hearing those words of Vladimir, when did he use the investment as an excuse to help the guy he wondered, and then remembered about informing Vasu to only mix ten percent of other type of chili into the mix this time around. Could this be the reason he wondered and looked at the crew personnel who went to inspect the chili powder in a weird way but when they replied in a knowing smile he understood what was going on and signaled for them to talk about it later and not now.\

Vasu who was the only spectator would have understood what was going on had he known some Russian but since luckily only Arjun was the one who understood the language he explained to him that Vladimir was just excited about the quantity.

After discussing together for several more minutes the crew who had gone to collect the money came back with some hired trucks to move the goods after which Arjun, Vladimir and Balram left once Arjun handed them the address for the textile factory which was just a slight detour on their way back and he wanted to save as much time as possible.

Just as they were about to leave Chandrakanth came running to stop them and informed Arjun that the shipment was already on way after which Arjun introduced Vladimir to Chandra stating that he was one of the material suppliers and he came to inform him about supply updates as they were going to do the first trial run the next day.

On their way to the textile factory kept bombarding Arjun about his plans to market the dairy beverages as they could be considered a new product range in the Indian beverage industry and he was curios how Arjun was going to handle the marketing as he was sure Arjun was going to come up with something interesting this time around too, that's what his prior investigation made him believe.

Arjun remained tight lipped on the marketing stuff and replied it would be a surprise but also mentioned he would first focus on the southern states as he was more familiar with the markets around and would only go northward after he establishes proper supply chains in the southern markets. This was important with products which had considerably shorter shelf lives and inventory stocking would also need more data, how Arjun wished he would have software of the future to do these stuff which had to be handled by hand right now but he was already thinking about solving this issue on his trip to Madras which was only a few weeks away and wondered if the students in the IIT would be capable enough to handle such tasks or he had to do them himself.

Once they reached the textile factory the factory manager who was wondering whether Arjun would really visit them to collect the goods was much more relieved. After all there was complete radio silence from Arjun's end after he placed his till now and he was even delayed by four to five days from the promised deadline and he was already considering to sell it to other exporters if Arjun did not visit by the next week.

Vladimir was most skeptical about this area as he had seen plenty of textile imports back home but most Russian households did not really prefer Indian styles but changed his mind after looking at the newly styled bedsheets and curtains which felt much more refreshing, colorful and well designed compared to the bulky ones they were using back home. Even though they could not be used in Winter times there would be no issue in selling them for a premium thanks to the different artworks on them in regular seasons.

He even wanted to export them to other nearby European countries himself and expressed his idea to Arjun who brought him back to the ground saying it was better to get proper data and market response before proceeding with such steps as the factory was not going to run away anyway.

After collecting the goods Three of them proceeded to have their lunch on their way back to town as Arjun wanted to have a change in food and they went to a north Indian Dhaba instead of the comfort south Indian food.

Vladimir exclaimed even though he liked the traditional south Indian food, the north Indian food which had plenty of Roti felt much more similar to the breaded food back home. Arjun made sure to get this point inside his head as he too wanted to branch out into the restaurant business and expand it out of the country once he was satisfied with his other businesses. Perhaps this was the reason North Indian food was much more acclaimed outside compared to South Indian foods which were mostly rice based he reasoned with himself.

Once they were done with the lunch three of them visited Shan Masood at the sweat distribution house since this was the last order they needed to collect for the day. Vladimir was already complaining he would need a proper rest after the amount of travelling they had done for the day and never shut up about the horrible road conditions.

Arjun did not think there would be someone out there who could be lazier than himself but after seeing this bulky guy already sweating due to the summer heat even though the car AC was it's lowest temperatuer setting he thought it was perhaps more to do with heat than the road conditions and other stuff.

Shan was very welcoming to the three of them and directly took them to the ware house after seeing how sweaty the foreigner had become and did not want to waste more of their time thankfully.

Once they made sure everything was right and there were no issues with the packaging or the quality of sweats Vladimir paid the guy and without waiting for his crew to come with the trucks to pick the goods up he hurried Arjun to return back to the hotel and even asked to get the wine he had drunk the day before if it was possible.
