That night, Shirley Thorne didn't fall asleep until the wee hours, and even then, she slept fitfully. Her mind was in a state of high excitement. One moment she was soaring through the clouds, the next she was pounding on walls deep underground. She was simply too wired to sleep.
And so, naturally, the dark circles came.
Shirley Thorne's almond-shaped eyes were sparkling. Paired with her brand-new dark circles, the look was as awkward as it could possibly be.
At the same time, she was grinning foolishly, her lips curled up as she unconsciously stirred her fish congee until the slices of fish fell apart.
Florence glanced at her curiously, then waved a hand in front of her face, only to find she got no reaction at all.
"Ma'am?"
When that didn't work, she had to call out.
Shirley Thorne still didn't react.
Florence: ...
She was at a loss for words. It seemed to be the theme of the morning.
It looked like she would have to play her trump card.
