After enjoying a nice meal at Meredith Rowan's, Shirley Thorne didn't leave. Instead, she had Florence Langley bring her an art tablet, saying she wanted to work on her designs there because the sanatorium was quieter.
Meredith Rowan was naturally thrilled. She had so many questions for Shirley Thorne, and if Shirley just up and left, where would she find her to ask?
But reality once again disappointed her.
When Shirley Thorne worked, she was truly focused. No one could get through to her, and she had absolutely no time to spare for Meredith Rowan.
Using the excuse of pouring her a glass of water, Meredith Rowan offered a few ingratiating remarks, but all she got in return were a few polite "thank yous" and nothing more.
She felt a little defeated, her mind replaying what Shirley Thorne had said about divorce during breakfast.
'What on earth happened?'
'Why is Shirley even thinking about divorce?'
