Chapter 292 - Great Changes Afoot

Translator: AnubisTL

Before long, the four little dragons had devoured the entire giant elephant, their bellies finally full and satisfied.

Savoring the comfortable fullness in their stomachs, the little dragons sprawled lazily on the ground, basking in this rare, post-meal bliss.

However, this tranquility lasted less than a minute before the white dragon's icy voice struck like a thunderclap.

"Who gave you permission to rest?!" Treacy violently flapped her dragon wings, unleashing a gust of bone-chilling wind that swept over the little dragons, jolting them awake. "Get up, all of you!"

She let out a low, rumbling dragon's roar.

The ogres, who had been waiting nearby, immediately began grunting as they hauled over massive, incredibly heavy blocks of metal.

Under the bewildered and confused gazes of the little dragons, the white dragon coldly commanded, "Treat these lumps of iron as your enemies! Use your bodies as weapons! Smash into them!"

She had witnessed Garos's masochistic training methods firsthand.

She had even tried them herself a few times, but quickly gave up, unable to endure the excruciating boredom and pain.

However, using a similar method to "train" these hyperactive little dragons was just the thing.

Slamming their bodies against these hard iron stones? This was practically self-mutilation!

The little dragons exchanged glances, their faces etched with hesitation and reluctance. Not a single one moved.

"What? Have you never seen the peerless, meteor-like fury of Lord of the Crimson Wings Garos descending from the heavens?"

Treacy's voice suddenly rose. "That terrifyingly powerful physique was forged by ceaselessly slamming against mountains and the earth, day and night! It was built through countless injuries, the repeated shattering and shedding of dragon scales, and the endless cycle of muscles and bones breaking and healing in a loop of tearing pain and agonizing recovery!"

"Don't you all want to trample me under your feet one day? Don't you aspire to become the most powerful dragons in the world?"

She flicked her tail, its sharp tip pointing precisely at the cold metal blocks. "Then stop talking and start slamming into them!"

Hearing Treacy's inflammatory words, especially the promise of "trampling me under your feet," the red dragon Cahill was the first to let out a low, unwilling growl.

She mustered all her strength and, like a blazing cannonball, slammed violently into the largest of the iron stones.

CLANG—!

A deafening crash echoed through the air. The massive recoil left Cahill reeling, her vision spinning as several of her scales shattered instantly. Yet, the surface of the hard iron stone now bore a faint, spiderweb-like network of cracks.

Immediately after, a series of dull, continuous thuds reverberated across the training ground.

The young dragons gritted their fangs, enduring the excruciating pain as they repeatedly hurled their underdeveloped bodies against the cold, unyielding iron stones.

Just as they reached the point of collapse, barely catching their breath, the ruthless white dragon would drag them back up, forcing them into weighted flight to continue honing their crucial aerial skills and endurance.

Though the intensity of this training fell far short of Garos's non-dragon standards, White Dragon Treacy had essentially copied his methods to devise this rigorous regimen for the little dragons.

WHOOSH—!

A sudden, fierce gust of wind swept across the ground, casting a massive shadow over the area.

Red Dragon Samantha and Iron Dragon Solgorn circled low in the air before landing steadily on the wide terrace of the Burning Steel Citadel's third level.

Iron Dragon Solgorn's gaze swept downward, lingering for a brief moment on the little dragons training arduously below. He then withdrew his eyes and strode steadily into the fortress.

"To the council chamber," his deep, resonant voice echoed directly in the minds of several dragons.

The little dragons looked up, their gazes fixed upon the towering, immense, and seemingly burning iron fortress—the Burning Steel Citadel.

Steeling their scattered nerves, they followed White Dragon Treacy's lead, beating their wings in unison as they flew toward the third-level platform.

Inside the Burning Steel Citadel's magnificent council chamber.

As the little dragons entered the vast space one by one, several adult dragons were already waiting for them.

Red Dragon Samantha and Iron Dragon Solgorn were coiled upon stone platforms on opposite sides of the chamber. And directly before them, at the hall's deepest point, sat the Ironforged Lord upon the Golden Throne, a symbol of supreme authority. His appearance was both fierce and majestic.

What shook the little dragons even more, even causing a flicker of unease, was the sight of a hybrid dragon radiating the aura of a metallic dragon, seated right there in the council's inner sanctum—a place reserved for the chromatic evil dragons.

The hybrid's massive frame even dwarfed both Red Dragon Samantha and Iron Dragon Solgorn.

The little dragons' bloodline-deep hostility and wariness made them want to let out threatening low growls, but the solemn and oppressive atmosphere in the council chamber forced them to suppress the urge.

Though their minds were filled with immense curiosity and confusion, none of the adult dragons offered any explanation as to why a hybrid metallic dragon was present.

"Sit."

The red-iron dragon on the Golden Throne spoke calmly, his voice echoing through the vast hall.

The council chamber was immense and spacious. Following the instructions, the newly arrived little dragons settled onto massive stone platforms—each large enough for an adult dragon to coil upon—their gazes drawn irresistibly to the red-iron dragon on the throne.

"Solgorn, tell us your specific plans for them."

After speaking, the red-iron dragon partially closed his eyes, as if slipping into a state of meditative rest.

Iron Dragon Solgorn nodded slightly, then turned his gaze to the young and juvenile dragons below.

Choosing his words carefully, he spoke in a tone that brooked no argument: "Dragon Valley has provided you with sanctuary and the food you need to survive. In return, you must fulfill your duties and serve the future of Dragon Valley."

He deliberately emphasized his words, his gaze sweeping over each of the little dragons. "Do you all understand this perfectly?"

Blue Dragon Heliam, Red Dragon Cahill, Green Dragon Ludwig, and Black Dragon Seraphina—the four little dragons nodded one by one under the Iron Dragon's oppressive gaze, signaling their comprehension.

"Very well. Then I will get straight to the point."

Iron Dragon Solgorn stopped beating around the bush and announced bluntly, "You must fight against your naturally lazy and indolent dispositions. Based on the current developmental needs of Dragon Valley, you must make a choice immediately and determine the first class pathway you will formally embark upon."

His gaze first fell upon Black Dragon Seraphina and Green Dragon Ludwig.
