Goku smiled and nodded, then raised his hand and waved to his wife and two sons.
"Is it okay to just put your hands on your back?" Goku scratched his head, his tone uncertain, his gaze fixed on Weiss's back.
"Yes." Whis bowed slightly, his silver hair gleaming softly in the sunlight, and the scepter in his hand swaying gently.
Goku immediately did as he was told, placing his broad palm firmly on Whis's back.
"Click-clack!"
Whis's staff tapped lightly on the ground, and the crystal at its tip suddenly glowed. A brilliant light, like flowing water, washed over his body, and he was just about to depart with Son Goku.
However, at that very moment...
Whoosh!
A golden streak of light came whistling from the distance with a sharp piercing sound. Vegeta hovered in mid-air, shouting down at them, "Wait a minute!"
Whis paused for a moment, the light around him slowly receding. He turned his head, his gaze sweeping over Vegeta with his usual faint smile. "Oh my, oh my... isn't this Mr. Vegeta? Didn't I already send you home?"
"Where do you think you're going?" Vegeta landed on the ground, his feet crushing several fallen leaves. His brow was furrowed, and his tone carried an unquestionable scrutiny.
After being sent home by Whis, Vegeta had invited him to stay for a meal.
In response, Whis had simply said, "No need," in a light tone.
Vegeta had been speechless at the time.
Whis, oh Whis... in my previous life, didn't you love our family's cooking the most?
Why has it changed in this life?
Then Vegeta had pressed Whis on what he was going to do.
Whis said he was going to see Son Goku.
Vegeta hadn't thought much of it then, merely nodding—after all, Beerus had already said that Kakarot would be added to the five-man tournament, and there was no objection to that.
However, after Whis left, the more Vegeta thought about it, the more something felt off. It was as if a stone were pressing against his chest, and an ominous premonition began to grow like wild vines.
Besides having him participate in the tournament, could Whis have something else in mind for Kakarot?
Once that thought arose, he couldn't suppress it. Vegeta immediately set off, transforming into a golden light and flying toward Son Goku's house.
As it turned out, just as he arrived, Vegeta saw the scene where Whis was about to take Kakarot away from Earth.
"Eh? Vegeta?" Son Goku's eyes widened in surprise. He moved his hand away from Whis's back and waved at him.
"Hello, Uncle Vegeta," Son Gohan said with a gentle smile.
"Uncle Vegeta, didn't Trunks come along with you?" Son Goten tilted his head, his finger twirling his tail, his tone innocent and bright.
Videl hid behind Son Gohan, showing only a pair of dark, round eyes, her small hands tightly clutching Gohan's clothes.
Isn't this that uncle with the spiky hair?
What is he doing here?
Why is it that every time I see him, I always feel like there's a faint tragic aura lingering around him?
Vegeta didn't answer Son Goten's question. His gaze locked onto Whis like a sharp sword, his voice low like muffled thunder. "You're not planning to take Kakarot to train, are you?"
"Yes, that is indeed my intention," Whis nodded candidly, his staff turning lightly between his fingers.
"Take me with you," Vegeta took a step forward, his battle suit tightening with the movement and outlining the lines of his muscles.
Whis: "..."
Whis was silent for two seconds, then let out a light chuckle. "Very well, come along then."
Vegeta felt a surge of joy, the tension in his jawline softening slightly. He immediately walked behind Whis and, mimicking Son Goku, placed his hand on Whis's back.
"Well then, let's depart!" Whis said, tapping his staff on the ground once more.
A brilliant aura surged like a tide, instantly covering the three of them and enveloping their figures.
Whoosh!
The brilliant aura shot into the sky, taking Son Goku and Vegeta as a bright streak of light. They broke through the clouds and soared into the vast starry sky, vanishing into the blue horizon in the blink of an eye.
"What incredible speed!" Son Goku looked down; Earth had already become a blue glass bead. He couldn't help but marvel at the sight. "I can't even see Earth anymore."
"Hmph, you're easily impressed," Vegeta snorted coldly, though his gaze involuntarily swept over the stars below.
Whis's face remained expressionless, his silver eyelashes casting faint shadows over his eyelids, as if he were long accustomed to all of this.
A brief silence spread through the starry sky, with only the faint sound of air friction.
"But then again, Mr. Vegeta," Whis suddenly spoke, his tone carrying a hint of reflection.
Vegeta raised an eyebrow and turned his head toward Whis, his pupils sparkling under the starlight.
"I made it very clear before—even if you continue training with me, you won't make much progress," Whis's voice carried a hint of earnestness. "It would be best for Mr. Vegeta to train with Lord Beerus; perhaps you'll achieve a higher level of advancement."
"I know, but the timing isn't right yet," Vegeta nodded with a heavy expression, his clenched fists betraying his inner reluctance.
"Then why did Mr. Vegeta follow us?" Whis asked with a smile.
"No big reason; I just wanted to see how Kakarot trains," Vegeta turned his face away, his tone flat, as if he were speaking of something inconsequential.
Son Goku pointed a finger at his own nose, looking at Vegeta with a look of bewilderment.
Why do you want to watch me train?
Isn't it better to just do your own training?
However, Son Goku didn't say much. Instead, he rubbed his hands together, a look of anticipation on his face, his eyes as bright as two stars.
"Mr. Whis, is that Galactic Patrolman you mentioned really that strong?" Son Goku leaned forward excitedly, his tone full of eagerness.
"Galactic Patrolman?" Vegeta was taken aback, his brow instantly knitting into a knot.
So Whis is taking Kakarot to find Merus.
"Mr. Vegeta has met him; his name is Merus," Whis explained with a smile, the crystal at the tip of his staff flickering lightly.
"Vegeta, so you've met this Galactic Patrolman Merus before," Son Goku turned to Vegeta, his eyes wide and round. "How was it? Did the two of you spar?"
Vegeta's expression instantly turned sour, as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, and the pressure around him dropped several notches.
"I think I already know the answer," Son Goku scratched his head and chuckled twice.
Vegeta: "..."
Is this guy doing this on purpose?
"When was this?" Son Goku asked again, his curiosity not diminishing in the slightest.
"Seven years ago," Whis smiled, his tone light, yet it felt like a needle pricking Vegeta's heart.
"Eh? It's already been that long." Son Goku's mouth hung open in surprise, and he instinctively looked at Vegeta with a hint of sympathy in his eyes.
Vegeta's face darkened, and a vein throbbed on his forehead.
Stop looking at me for every little thing!
What are you looking at me for?
Look at the stars!
Aren't there enough stars in this universe for you to look at?
"Hmph, after seven years of hard training, I will definitely defeat that fellow named Merus this time," Vegeta clenched his fists tight, his knuckles turning white, his face full of unquestionable confidence.
Whis: "..."
Whis let out a soft sigh, his silver eyelashes drooping even lower. He said nothing, but the light on his staff dimmed slightly.
Ten minutes later.
Son Goku suddenly pointed ahead, his eyes wide and round. "Wow! What's that?"
A large space station appeared before the three of them. Its metal hull gleamed with a cold, hard luster under the starlight, its structure as complex as a massive honeycomb, making Son Goku marvel in wonder.
Son Goku felt as though he had been to this area in his previous life.
But in his previous life, there had been no space station here at all.
As expected, the world after reincarnation is completely different.
Whoosh!
Whis took Son Goku and Vegeta and flew straight toward the space station, slipping through an open window and arriving directly in Merus's room.
Merus was wiping his staff. The moment he saw Whis, his body stiffened, and his lips moved, nearly calling out "Brother."
However, Whis timely gave him a look, stopping him.
"Ah... hello, Mr. Whis, Mr. Vegeta..." Merus hurriedly changed his address, his gaze falling on Son Goku with a hint of confusion. "This is..."
Bang!
Whis suddenly tapped Merus on the head with his staff, making a crisp sound.
Merus rubbed his head, grimacing in pain, and looked at Whis in bewilderment.
Wait a minute, Brother Whis, you hit me as soon as we meet?
I didn't do anything wrong, did I?
"Let me introduce you; this is Mr. Son Goku," Whis pointed to Son Goku, his tone returning to a calm state.
"Ah... so you're Merus," Son Goku immediately stepped forward and warmly extended his hand. "Whis says you're very strong."
A forced smile appeared on Merus's face. Although he shook Son Goku's hand, his gaze still drifted toward Whis, his eyes screaming, "What exactly did I do wrong?"
"Mr. Goku and the others were fighting Majin Buu in the Sacred World of the Kai earlier. With such a massive energy fluctuation, surely Mr. Merus couldn't have failed to sense it?" Whis suddenly put on a stern face, his tone carrying a hint of seriousness.
Merus silently wiped the sweat from his forehead and hurriedly replied, "I must have been in the middle of capturing Saganbo's Galactic Bandit Brigade in the universe... so I might not have noticed."
"You should always pay attention to the movements of the universe; only then will your training be effective," Whis taught unhurriedly, tapping the tip of his staff on the ground.
"Yes, I understand," Merus lowered his head, unable to help complaining in his heart.
I'm only training in a human capacity right now; how could I possibly sense the situation in the Sacred World of the Kai?
If I had been carrying my staff with me, I might have sensed it long ago.
Vegeta: "..."
Vegeta watched the scene before him, feeling increasingly uneasy.
How is it that after reincarnating, Whis is instead taking this Merus to train?
It looks like Merus is Whis's true disciple.
Do Kakarot and I not count anymore?
"What did Mr. Whis mean by bringing the two of them over...?" Merus quickly changed the subject, his gaze scanning back and forth between Son Goku and Vegeta as he asked curiously.
"Nothing much; I've brought you an opponent. The two of you should have a good spar," Whis said with a smile, his tone relaxed.
"Is it this Mr. Son Goku?" Merus finally sized Son Goku up from head to toe, his gaze carrying a hint of evaluation.
"Yes," Whis nodded.
"Then... follow me to the training room; we'll spar over there," Merus put away his staff and made a "please" gesture.
"Alright," Son Goku agreed readily, already starting to crack his knuckles, which made a series of popping sounds.
"Oh my, oh my... an ordinary training room likely won't be able to withstand your energy fluctuations. Let's find another place to spar," Whis shook his head with a smile.
"Certainly, Mr. Whis," Merus nodded, not objecting.
"Find a suitable planet," Whis said, raising his staff. The crystal ball at its tip lit up as he began scanning nearby planets.
"How about the Sacred World of the Kai? That planet is quite sturdy!" Son Goku suddenly proposed, his eyes lighting up. "I can sense Broly's Ki from here, so it'll be more convenient to use Instant Transmission to get there."
Whis looked at Son Goku, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes, and nodded in agreement.
Vegeta covered his face, his shoulders trembling slightly.
Kakarot, just how much of an obsession do you have with the Sacred World of the Kai?
"Hold onto me; I'll use Instant Transmission to go to the Sacred World of the Kai right now," Son Goku chuckled and immediately placed his index and middle fingers together against his forehead, a faint white aura rising around him.
Whis smiled and placed his hand on Son Goku's shoulder.
Merus followed suit, placing his hand there as well, unable to help asking curiously, "Is Mr. Goku a disciple of the Supreme Kai?"
"No, I learned this Instant Transmission from the Yardrats," Son Goku replied while sensing the Ki.
"So that's how it is," Merus nodded in realization.
"Let's go!" Son Goku closed his eyes, and with a flicker, the four of them vanished.
...
The Sacred World of the Kai.
Looking at the pitted ground, broken stone pillars, and scattered debris everywhere, the Supreme Kai, Elder Kai, and Kibito stood in the ruins, their hearts aching.
"The Sacred World of the Kai has been beaten into this state; I don't know when it will ever recover," the Supreme Kai knelt down, stroking a shattered foundation stone and sighing deeply, his voice full of helplessness.
"At least Goku and the others won't be having any more intense battles for a while," Kibito stood to the side, his brow furrowed, his tone carrying a hint of relief.
"That's truly a blessing. We can only repair it bit by bit," the Supreme Kai stood up, gazing at the devastated land and letting out a heavy sigh.
Elder Kai paced back and forth with his hands behind his back, his brow knitted into a knot.
"Lord Ancestor, what's the matter?" the Supreme Kai couldn't help but ask. "Why do you look so worried?"
"I don't know why, but I have a bad premonition," Elder Kai took a deep breath, a hint of gravity flashing in his cloudy eyes. "It feels like something big is about to happen."
"What else could happen?" the Supreme Kai expressed his confusion, spreading his hands. "Hasn't Majin Buu already become a good person? The contest between Lord Beerus and Goku has also ended... For a long time to come, there shouldn't be any more danger, right?"
"I think so too," Kibito nodded, looking at the Supreme Kai with deep agreement, feeling that he was absolutely right.
"And then there's Broly..." the Supreme Kai chuckled, pointing to Broly not far away. "He's finally completely regained his senses after transforming into the Legendary Super Saiyan."
"Yes, Broly can even transform into Legendary Super Saiyan 2 now, and he still hasn't lost his mind," Kibito added with a smile, his tone carrying a hint of admiration.
The three of them looked toward Broly together.
Broly was sitting on a picnic mat, enjoying his food once again.
It could be said that Broly had a great sense of ritual when it came to eating.
Before eating, Broly would spread the picnic mat perfectly flat, and the plates placed on it were in perfect order, with every kind of food neatly arranged.
"In short, having this kid Broly stay in the Sacred World of the Kai is a ticking time bomb," Elder Kai sighed deeply, his brow furrowed with worry.
"That's true enough, but the problem is, he won't leave. What can we do?" the Supreme Kai felt a headache coming on, his hands spread helplessly.
"He just said 'I'm used to it' and refused to budge," Kibito's mouth twitched, clearly helpless against Broly's persistence.
"If all else fails... we'll have to use force," Elder Kai took a deep breath, as if making a difficult decision, a hint of cunning flashing in his eyes.
"What does Lord Ancestor plan to do?" the Supreme Kai was taken aback, asking curiously.
"While he's sleeping, you sneak over and send him to a place similar to the Sacred World of the Kai," Elder Kai chuckled mischievously, lowering his voice.
Supreme Kai: "..."
"That wouldn't be appropriate, would it?" the Supreme Kai's eyelids twitched, feeling that Lord Ancestor's plan was too shameless. "If Broly finds out, when he comes back, he'll beat us to death!"
"Even if he finds out, can he still come back?" Elder Kai's smile grew even more radiant, looking full of confidence.
"Lord Ancestor, don't forget," the Supreme Kai sighed and reminded him. "If Broly explodes his Ki, no matter where he is in the universe, Son Goku will be able to sense his location! That fellow Son Goku can use Instant Transmission; he'll definitely bring him back."
Hearing this, Elder Kai felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, and he was instantly moved to tears.
When you put it that way, it seems there's really no flaw in that logic.
"Forget it, let him stay here!" Elder Kai wanted to cry but couldn't, so he could only wave his hand helplessly.
"Actually, letting him stay here is fine, as long as we find him some good food every few days to keep him satisfied," the Supreme Kai tapped his index fingers together, a forced smile on his face, clearly unable to think of a better way.
Elder Kai waved his hand, no longer wanting to discuss the topic.
"Fortunately, those several intense battles are over. There shouldn't be any more fighting taking place in the Sacred World of the Kai from now on," Kibito said with a hearty laugh, attempting to lighten the atmosphere.
The Supreme Kai and Elder Kai both nodded slightly in agreement.
Shua!
However, before Kibito's laughter had even fully subsided, Son Goku used Instant Transmission to appear in the Sacred World of the Kai, bringing Whis, Merus, and Vegeta along with him.
The smile on Kibito's face instantly froze, as if he had been struck by a freezing spell.
Goku, oh Goku... could you not slap us in the face quite so quickly?
"Hello, Lord Supreme Kai, Kibito!" Son Goku waved with a smile, greeting them warmly.
Elder Kai: "..."
I told you I had a bad premonition, and sure enough, it's come true.
How has this kid Goku brought people to the Sacred World of the Kai again?
Is he here to fight again?
"Mr. Whis..." Elder Kai's mouth twitched. He hurriedly stepped forward to greet him, forcing a smile onto his face.
"Lord Elder Kai is too kind," Whis said with a gentle smile and a mild tone. "We've come this time because we'd like to borrow your esteemed realm for a bit of a spar."
Elder Kai covered his face.
It really is a case of 'speak of the devil.'
The Supreme Kai and Kibito were also instantly moved to tears.
"Just look at this! Look at what you've already turned the Sacred World of the Kai into... and you still want to spar here?" the Supreme Kai pointed at the dilapidated state of the realm, truly feeling speechless, his voice carrying a hint of a sob.
"It is a bit of a mess..." Son Goku scratched his head, feeling somewhat embarrassed, but then he added, "But since it's already in this state, continuing to fight shouldn't make it much worse, right?"
Supreme Kai: "..."
Elder Kai silently wiped away his sweat.
"There's no other way. If we fight on other planets, it's too easy to shatter them. The Sacred World of the Kai is still the sturdiest place," Son Goku said with some embarrassment, scratching his head and revealing a simple, honest smile.
The Supreme Kai truly didn't know how to evaluate Son Goku anymore.
With that embarrassed expression of yours, it makes us feel bad even trying to refuse you.
"Do whatever you want," Elder Kai waved his hand with an air of utter despondency. His gaze swept over the people present, finally settling on Merus.
"Who do you plan to have spar with whom?" the Supreme Kai asked, suddenly becoming interested and curious. "Goku and Vegeta? Come to think of it, the two of you haven't really had a serious fight yet, have you?"
Hearing this, Elder Kai nearly couldn't resist the urge to kick the Supreme Kai to death.
You're letting those two fight?
Then what would be left of the Sacred World of the Kai?
"Kakarot, let's put that battle between us aside for now. I'm going to have a rematch with Merus," Vegeta said, the corners of his mouth turning up as he revealed absolute confidence, his eyes full of fighting spirit.
"Alright, I was thinking the same thing," Son Goku nodded, then looked over toward Broly.
As it turned out, Son Goku discovered that Broly was sitting by his picnic mat, packing things up as if he were preparing to make a run for it.
"Broly, come over and join the fun too," Son Goku called out to Broly.
"Wait until I've hidden this properly," Broly said without looking back. A dark green aura instantly erupted from his body as he took the picnic mat and the food, rapidly flying away.
It took a full five minutes before Broly flew back from the distance.
Son Goku: "..."
Just how much do you treasure that food?
Even if it's gone, couldn't I just have Lord Supreme Kai get you some more?
"I'm back," Broly chuckled, moving to Son Goku's side with a look of satisfaction on his face.
Son Goku nodded, saying nothing more.
"Do we need to use Fusion?" Broly asked, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
"Not for now. We'll use it when the need arises," Son Goku replied.
Vegeta: "..."
Hearing this from the side, Vegeta's face instantly turned as black as coal. He was trembling with rage, his fists clenched tight.
Kakarot, you bastard!
Don't you know?
Only the fusion between the two of us is the strongest!
And our Potara Union is also incredibly powerful.
In my previous life, when Kakarot and I were facing Fused Zamasu, we used the Potara earrings to become Vegito.
At that time, even the Supreme Kai said that our union had already surpassed Lord Beerus.
Kakarot, you bastard, you're actually not fusing with me and instead running off to play at Fusion with Broly.
Is it really appropriate for you to leave me behind like this?
