Gaius, now present in the palace that evening, stood aloof, as he waited for Damon's arrival in the Throne Room.
The Emperor had called for him and he was present. No matter what, he knew Damon would always need him.
As he stood there, thoughts danced in his head. It was surprising that Sibyl could do that…but what was more surprising was Damon…actually following her words.
Sibyl had humiliated him in Damon's presence.
When he returned from searching for Nyssa the second time, but found nothing Damon wanted, a flicker of disappointment passed through Damon's eyes.
"You, Gaius, you yourself promised to bring back that girl. Then, what's all these?"
"Well, you rejected the evidence that was laid before you," he shot a brow up in defense.
Sibyl, who was beside Damon that day, clicked her tongue disdainfully, earning a look from him.
