As hours continued to pass that day, Sibyl remained in her chambers nursing her son, Luther. She didn't see a reason for going outside anyways. Her husband didn't crave her presence, her co-wife was a long-mouthed scorpion and she couldn't stand the gazes of people.
So she could as well stay put inside. But her mind and heart were far from at peace.
One may ask, what even led to this? What was the genesis of the sudden scandal?

Sibyl tried to sleep out the worries, but it seemed sleep just as much, hated her. The only thing that kept her busy was her crying son.
She shook her head whilst breastfeeding him that noon. This wasn't the plan. Her father would be so disappointed.
If she lost favor in Damon's eyes, her family would be the one bearing the wrath. And she was sure right now, they were cursing the devil after that unfortunate display the previous night.
