Alina's POV
"Here you go," I murmured, sliding the plate of raspberry pie onto the table. Neither of them looked at the dessert—or me. Their eyes were glued to the flat screen mounted on the wall.
I followed their gaze, and my breath hitched. The news ticker scrolled across the bottom of the screen, flashing headlines about a rogue pack tearing through helpless omegas and betas. A cold stone settled in my gut. Lucian was a rogue. I was sleeping with a rogue. The realization hit me like a physical blow; I had to end this before it spiraled into something I couldn't survive.
"I hope they wipe every last one of them out," a customer spat, his voice trembling with barely suppressed rage. "They can't just slaughter people because they feel like it."
"You're right," his companion agreed, leaning forward. "The Alpha needs to step up and put an end to them for good."
