Chapter 88 - Keth's Condition

"Y-You bastard..." Caspian said, vomiting even more blood.

"Me? I am the bastard?" The barber said with a evil grin, slightly giggling. "You were the one who came in here and attacked me. I simply defended myself."

Before the barber could say anything further, Caspian changed the direction of Gravity, causing the barber to be launched into the ceiling, unable to move. "How impressive," He said before splitting Caspian's head in half, killing him instantly. "Oh, my apologies. I may have gone a bit overboard with your haircut. I hope you'll forgive me," The barber said, standing like normal on the floor due to the pressure disappearing.

"I'll guess I'll take him to the lab," The barber said to himself.

Kael entered the house of mysteries once again, the same mansion that he trained in, somewhat at least.

In the garden, there was a fountain and two benches. And in one bench, Maxwell was sitting in, reading a book despite the sunlight probably making it hard to read. Kael approached him and asked, "Where is Mateo?"

Maxwell kept reading the book and answered without looking at Kael, "Not here. What do you want?"

"I want to train," Kael said with a serious face.

Maxwell paused and closed his book aggressively. "Don't make me laugh. You still want to train after getting embarrassed? Do you have some pride left?"

"You're right. I got embarrassed when I fought with you," Kael said, his cold eyes filled with determination. "Which is exactly why I am here to train."

Maxwell sighed, "Fine. But you won't come unscathed this time."

"Same goes for you," Kael said with a smirk. "I'll make sure to take that attitude off you."

Maxwell ignored him and started to walk towards the large open area that he had used to fight previously.

Ronx, Alex and Zombie entered the church, where Keth was praying. He had aged the most in terms of looks. Though, his tired eyes and usually angry face wasn't there anymore and was replaced with a much wiser appearance overall.

"It's been a while," Keth said with a slight smile. "How can I help you?"

"We need your help in defeating someone, a powerful serial killer," Ronx replied.

Keth's eyes slightly widened, his face confused and shocked. "Why me?"

"The serial killer has some sort of an illusion ability, meaning, he can create illusions," Ronx answered. "I have heard that one of your many powers can break that effect."

"Hm...I see. Well, that is true...but, I haven't been much active on the fighting side," Keth answered. "I look like I am pushing 60 when I am only 45."

"You won't have to do anything. You simply have to break the illusion and we'll take care of the rest," Alex said with a serious face, trying to convince Keth. "I shall also guarantee your safety."

Keth slightly laughed. "I don't want to sound arrogant but I am pretty sure I can guarantee my own safety, haha." Keth then continued by saying, "I...will help you. Only if you help in one thing."

"And what is that?" Alex asked.

"There is a man called Whiskey James. He's been terrorizing this area for quite some while now. Many of the civilians are quite troubled. If you take care of him, I'll help you," Keth said.

"It'll be done," Zombie said with a blank expression.

With that, all of them left the church.

"Where and how will we find this James Whiskey?" Ronx asked, curious.

"We'll wait for night and keep watch until we find someone suspicious," Alex answered.

"Tch, how boring," Ronx said. "Why do we have to kill Tristan anyway? Why do we have to listen to that dead man. Because of that old ass, we have to do these side chores."

"Speaking of him...I'll let you both in on something," Alex said, looking around to see if anyone was close enough to hear them. "That old man that we saw isn't the real boss of the organization. There's someone higher."

Ronx raised an eyebrow, "How do you know?"

"Have you not noticed? His death should have brought terror or even cause the downfall of the Undead Crow organization. However, everyone is quite calm about it. Especially, Mr. Crow, who hasn't even bothered to do a proper funeral," Alex said in a low voice but enough for them to hear.

"I have noticed it too. Many things, in fact," Zombie added. "Something off about this whole organization...and guess what? I have only been feeling like this very recently. Something is going to happen. I can feel it."

Ronx sighed, not caring that much. "Well, there's no point in discussing it. The only thing to discuss is the exact details of how we are going to catch Whiskey James."

"You're right," Zombie said, before Alex began explaining everything in greater detail with a sigh.
