Alesia's POV.
Panic filled me as I did the only reasonable thing I could think of.
I kissed him.
The second my lips touched Jericho's, time seemed to stop. His mouth was warm, firm, and completely still against mine. I didn't know what I was doing. I just knew I had to stop him from hurting Eliza. My heart slammed against my ribs so hard I thought it might break.
I pulled back quickly and placed a palm over my lips, staring up at him in horror. Jericho continued staring at me in shock, his dark eyes wide, completely frozen. Even I was in shock. I can't believe I just kissed him. Jesus Christ, I just kissed him!
"Oh my!" Ralph burst out laughing so hard he bent over, slapping his knee. The sound echoed through the tense room like thunder. My hands were still trembling violently. I didn't wait another second. I quickly grabbed Eliza's hand and pulled her with me, hurrying toward the stairs.
