"Jericho would like you to join him for breakfast," Eliza announced shortly after entering my room, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"Today?" I asked foolishly, still half-dazed from the events of last night. The memory of his hands on my leg, his lips trailing up my skin, made heat creep up my neck.
"Yes, miss. He's currently waiting for you. I will help you bathe to speed things up."
I just nodded along. There was no use arguing with Eliza. She was going to do it anyway. She moved around the bathroom with quiet efficiency, filling the large tub with warm water and adding scented oils that smelled expensive and calming.
I slipped out of my robe and sank into the water, the golden anklet chiming softly against the porcelain. Every tiny bell reminded me of Jericho's touch from last night. The way he had fastened it on me like a mark of ownership.
"How do you feel?" Eliza asked as she gently massaged shampoo into my scalp. "I see you have new jewelry."
