Chapter 10 - Weapon

---

A month have passed since the day Raine came into this world.

He was still inside the labyrinth. Fighting, resting, sleeping and constantly moving forward.

Standing on a high coral, he looked down. He could see three scavengers moving. They were completely unaware of the threat roaming on their heads.

Raine turned to spirit and knocked all three of them out. He had become quite used to this.

He jumped down summoning Azure Blade and beheaded one on landing. Other two also met the same fate.

[You have slained an Awakened beast]

[You have slained an Awakened beast]

[You have slained...]

[You have received a memory]

[Your soul grows stronger]

"Please, not again!" He shouted at the sky.

After a tired sigh, "So, are you going to come out or not?" He said looking in one perticular direction.

Next moment a figure appeared from beneath the sandy coral. It moved slowly towards Raine, as if wary of him.

It looked similar to those scavengers but not entirely. It resembles a real Crab more then these scavengers who looked mutated versions of them.

This creature was strong. Stronger then those scavengers. That was why it was planning to ambush them. Until it's plans were foiled by some strange creature who jumped down from the sky.

It was wary of it. This creature had senced it's presence when it was hidden. But it was also hungry. And it had good chance of getting some food. Even if it couldn't beat the strange creature, it could get one of those bodies and run away. So it moved forward.

Raine was standing calmly. He saw the creature move towards him. He raised the Azure Blade, taking a basic stance with the sword.

He closed his eyes. The creature saw this. It has never seen it's pray close their eyes in combat. It became wary. But it was also hungry. So it planned to charge.

It moved at full speed, pincers raised to snap shut on it's pray. The strange creature haven't moved a bit. It's eyes still closed.

It got closer until it was only one meter away from the strange creature, it was ready to snap it's pincers when suddenly it's legs gave out, it didn't understand what was happening, it just saw a Azure blur moving towards it's head. Then there was darkness. And peace.

[You have slain a Awakened devil, Steel Crab]

[Your soul grows stronger]

"No Sword from this one, hah" He said. But didn't wait for a reply.

"Time for the harvest. Now, which one of you taste better?" He asked waiting for a reply this time.

"Well, if nobody speaks, I will chose someone randomly. So there still a chance. Tell me who taste better between you?"

"Quite the unity you have, ayy, let's see what you do what I do this?" He sliced a scavengers, the sword go fully through but the scavenger was too big to be sliced in half.

So he went to the other side, and sliced again. The scavenger was now in two, or three if you count his head too.

"See? That what you get if you don't do as I say. Now anyone change there mind?"

He waited. He didn't get a reply. How could he? They were already dead, not to mention who even talks with nightmare creatures.

"Sigh" he let an audible sigh and got to work.

He removed all the soul shards, collected their hearts and then climbed the coral again.

"It's time to eat, ITADAKIMASU!" He said clapping his hand in air.

He picked a juicy heart, still dripping blood. He carefully held it, afraid that precious blood will spill and fall. He put a artery in mouth and sucked. Blood filled his mouth but he gulped it down like it was fruit juice.

"Man, I was feeling thristy." He said, then took a bite off the heart. "And a bit hungry too." He said while chewing.

During this month, he had faced quite a lot. And he had grown used to quite a lot.

He was better at using his strength, his aspect, his swords. He had become better at eating this food without making a strange face.

"Man, This is life." He layed back once he finished his meal.

He was in horrible shape. He had scratches. His clothes were dirty and tattered. And he had a mild Diarrhea.

But his mind was content. He was feeling satisfied. Like he had everything and nothing could take it away from him.

'But still, I wants to wear something decent.'

Unsatisfaction rose again.

"Is it too much to ask for something decent to wear, hah spell?" He stared at the sky as if waiting for a reply.

"You know for all that ego, you actually aren't that smart, you know that?"

"Like instead of repeating 'you have slain this, 'you have slain this,' multiple times, you could just say 'you have slained three monsters' in one go." He said immitating spells robotic voice.

"Who wants to hear that anyway? You could just say the name of the memory I got."

"What do you think? Sounds smart, right? You should consider that in your next update. Tell the developers... If they are alive?"

He didn't know wether Weaver was alive or not. He didn't read so far. Like most things, he had grown bored of this story too. So he didn't know all the plot, just some major details from early volumes.

But why was he badmouthing the spell? What was going on? He just recieved a memory didn't he? So what was going on?

So the answer to that was that he Was receiving the Memories and it wasn't that he was receiving trash type like that bell sunny got. No. What he was receiving were actually good. Great even. They were all weapon type memories.

But that was the problem.

They were all weapon type.

He summoned his runes.

Name : Raine

Rank : Dreamer

Soul core : 998/1000

Memories : [Lizard's Tail], [Coral Blade], [Azure Blade], [Bone Sword] ,[Azure Blade] , [Azure Blade], [Azure Blade], [Shark's Tooth], [Azure Blade], [Coral Sword] ,[Azure Blade]

Echos :

He willed them to disappear.

So that was it. That was how things were. For him. He couldn't get any Armour, any Garment, any charm, anything other then a weapon.

"And what's with multiple Azure Blades. As if you don't have enough creativity to create and write something new. Like if you are so hell bent on giving me weapons, why don't you give me a bow or something? Why always a sword?"

He understood why. He had shouted and demanded weapons. He had demanded Sword. And now he was getting them.

But he didn't mind that much. He was managing quite great. To stay alive. To kill. And to move forward. He wasn't desperate for anything. And once he reach the dark city, he could exchange these weapons for some useful Memories.

So all was great.

He moved forward. But soon a tall shadow fell on him. It wasn't the spire. He would have seen it from distance. So he climbed the coral to cheak what it was.

It was a statue. A big one. So tall it reached the sky. It was headless. Or it would have been even more taller.

Raine was stunned. To him this looked like the statue of a god. He knew they were not gods. They were just some old generation heros.

"But who build statue this big for some Human?" This statue was easily two hundred meters tall. And the statue of Liberty was only ninty three.

He would understand if they build this for a god or someone like that. But for some humans?

But then he remembered.

He remembered his first night, surrounded by complete darkness. He could still remember it. How scared he was. And he could still remember the gratitude he had felt towards the light when dawn came.

"They Were gods. To the people of this land, they Were gods. They brought light to this god forsaken land. They did what only a god could do. So they deserve this."

He moved towards it. He could see the features of the person carved into a statue.

They were lean, but represented lethality. They wore assassin like clothes and had a blade hidden behind the back.

Raine couldn't tell if it was a man or women. But he knew who the statue represented.

"The Slayer."
