Lin Wan turned her head to look directly into Cassian's hard, handsome face.
"You told me yesterday that you didn't want me to be frightened or stressed before the birth."
"I did."
"Then why bring me all the way to the strategy hall to show me this?"
Cassian leaned in slightly, his dark eyes locked onto hers with absolute, unwavering sincerity.
"Because while I want you to be peaceful, I refuse to hide real, approaching danger from you. You deserve the truth, Lin Wan. Always."
Lin Wan remained silent for a long moment, watching the faint reflection of the blue crystal light in his dark eyes. That answer satisfied something deep within her heart far more than any comforting lie or gentle reassurance ever could.
She looked back at the hovering map, her voice dropping lower.
"Do you think it could actually reach the Citadel?"
Elder Darian hesitated, looking nervously toward Cassian before answering her.
"We... we cannot rule out the possibility, My Lady."
