The next morning colin woke up to the morning sun. Yawning he stood up and looked over to Basil's bed, he remembered that Basil went out at night.
The curtains were closed so Colin assumed that Basil was still sleeping. Sighing he got out of his bed and got ready to go to the great hall. As he was leaving he pulled apart the curtains of Basil's bed.
"What?"
Basil wasn't on the bed. It looked like nobody slept there, he even touched the bedding and it was cold. Did he not come back? Colin decided to head out and ask Ginny if she saw him.
In the common room Colin couldn't find Ginny so he decided to go to the girls' dormitory.
At the entrance to the girls' dormitory he met a bushy haired girl coming down the stairs.
"Hey. You know boys aren't allowed in the girls dormitory." Hermione Granger narrowed her eyes.
"Huh, ok." Colin decided to wait in the great hall.
Hermione watched him walk away with narrowed eyes before turning around and waited for Harry and Ron.
In the great hall Colin looked around searching for Basil with no luck. Sighing he sat down and put some sausages on his plate.
After a while Ginny sat down next to Colin.
"Hey! Do you know where Basil is?" Colin asked Ginny
"Im right here." Before Ginny could answer a voice called out behind him causing Colin to jump.
"Jeez! What's wrong with you! Stop sneaking up on me!" Colin exclaimed.
"What do you mean? I was here for five minutes. You just didn't notice me"
"What? Did you see him?" Colin disbelieving turned to Ginny to see if he was jut oblivious.
"I didnt see him." Ginny had her eyes in Basil not believing that she didnt see him.
Colin looked closely at Basil, his plate was filled with candy wrappers and his glass was half filled with juice, it really did seem like he was eating right beside him without him noticing.
"Alright just don't stay silent next time." He turned back to his plate and finished his sausages.
"I won't promise." Basil smiled mischievously to which Colin and Ginny ignored him.
After the owls finished delivering the mail a loud commotion broke out in the middle of the Gryfindor table.
A howler was yelling at a red haired boy, heads turned, and ears were covered.
After the yelling stopped everyone except for certain red headed individuals began laughing.
Not Fred and George though, they were the loudest.
After breakfast the trio left for flying class in the training grounds.
Ginny was still silent as her name was called out by the howler just after it yelled at her brother. Colin was marveling at the painting filling the walls, while Basil was explaining who they were.
"How do you know so much about them?" Colin asked Basil amazed at how much Basil knew.
"It's not that hard I came here many times." Hearing Basil boast Colin just rolled his eyes and continued to look at the paintings.
"Eveyone come here!" Madam Hooch the quidditch instructor called everyone towards broomsticks laid on the ground in rows.
She then instructed them to stand above one and speak the word "up." while extending their hand above the broom.
Basil and Ginny got her broom up in one try while Colin had to try some more, mostly because he was too excited.
In the air Colin was flying slowly while Basil was circling around him. Not just circling though, he was doing loops, flying upside-down, not even using hands.
"How are you so good?" Colin was amazed at all the tricks Basil could do. The muggle magician like disappearing trick, the seemingly endless candy he has, and now quidditch. Colin sighed what couldn't he do?
"Are you going to join the quidditch team?" Colin thought that since Basil was great at quidditch he could probably join the quidditch team.
"Hmmm..." Basil thought about it with his hand on his chin, upside-down. "I think I will."
After a not so long amount of time Basil decided to join the quidditch team.
"You know first years aren't allowed their own brooms right?" Ginny who was listening in interjected. "And they probably wouldn't let a first year onto the team."
"Don't worry, I have an idea." Basil said mysteriously.
After class Basil and Ginny went to find Fred and George Weasley. Originally Basil was to go alone, but Ginny was also interested in quidditch, so she followed along.
"Hey Fred, George." Basil and Ginny cornered Fred and George as they were leaving the common room.
"Hey Ginny! Got a boyfriend? We thought you had a crush Harry."
Ginny blushed and glared at Fred. "Shut up!"
"You like Harry Potter?" Basil asked in surprise causing Ginny's face to turn a darker shade.
"Yea all she talks about is Harry Potter. Its like an obsessed fan." George chimed in.
"By the way, could you introduce us to the quidditch team?" Basil got to the point.
"Hmm? You want to get onto the team? We don't have any positions left though."
"Just as reserve members, I assure you that we are the best reserve members you can get." Basil said a confident smile.
'The best reserve members.' That just sounds like we aren't good enough to be on the team. Ginny frowned looking at Basil.
"What about your brooms, first years aren't allowed their own brooms, just because professor McGonagall gave an exception last year, doesn't mean she'll do it again for reserve members."
"Don't worry" Basil pulled out two cleansweep sixes out of nowhere. "Aren't these brooms we borrowed from you?"
Fred, George, and Ginny widened their eyes.
"Wow! I didn't know you were so rich."
"Well that works but, you know we have a referral fee." Fred and George chuckled looking at Basil with sinister smiles.
"Hey!" Ginny glared at them. "Why are you asking for payment! We're just asking to meet them, and i'm your SISTER!"
Fred sighed "fine, fine we'll bring you to our next training session. Stop whining."
Basil smiled. "Thanks." And gave the twins a ton of candy.
As they left Basil turned to Ginny with a smug grin. "See, I told you I had a way."
