Basil was walking down the corridor of the Hogwarts express when he noticed a boy taking a lot of pictures.
Knocking on the door he asked the boy. "Hey wanna be friends?"
"Huh?" The boy turned over looking at Basil. "You want to be friends?"
"Yes." Said Basil. "I'm Basil Bramwell, nice to meet you"
"Ok, I'm colin Creevey."
"Great! What do you like? I like candy." Basil sat down next to Colin taking out candy from his pocket.
"I like taking pictures." Colin took out his camera and showed it to Basil.
"Cool can you take one of me?"
"Sure!" Colin excitedly raised his camera intending to take a picture, but before he could a knock came from the door.
"Hello could we sit here the rest are full." Two girls one with red hair, the other blonde were outside the door.
"Sure! Want some candy?" Basil held up some candy.
"Thanks. I'm Ginny Weasley this is Luna Lovegood." The red haired girl introduced themselves while taking some candy.
"I'm Colin Creevey."
"Basil Bramwell."
"Basil Bramwell? I think I heard it before." But Ginny couldn't remember why it seemed familiar.
"You know me?" Basil was puzzled, he had a great memory for faces and he was sure ha had never seen ginny before.
"No, but you name sounds familiar."
"Since you know each other could we take a group photo?" Asked Colin Showing his camera to the others.
"Sure"
"Ok"
"I'm fine with that"
"Great!" Colin excitedly took the photo showing it to the others.
"How much candy do you have?" Said Colin as Basil took out a bunch of candy again.
"Enough to last me a hundred years." Said Basil shocking everyone.
"A hundred years? Why do you have so much?"
"Well, if I forget to refill I'll still have some left."
"Why would you ever need to refill?" Ginny was shocked that he had to refill.
"So I don't run out of candy?" Basil seemed confused by the question.
"No, you have enough candy to last for the rest of your life, why do you need to refill."
"I've lived over one hundred years I dont think i'll die in a hundred."
"What?" Looking at Basil's serious face Colin, Ginny, and Luna were dumbfounded.
"Oh! He probably has eighth-grader syndrome." Colin whispered to Ginny and Luna.
"Whats eighth-grader syndrome?" The girls were puzzled.
"It's a temporary adolescent phase characterized by delusions of grandeur, where teens convince themselves they have special powers or secret knowledge. I read about it in a book."
"Hey im not lying I'm about five thousand years old." Seeing them not believing him Basil huffed.
"Five thousand years old? That's older than Hogwarts." Ginny said disbelieving.
"Yea when I was young there were no magic schools."
"I think his eighth-grader syndrome is acting up. I read that if we play along it will get better." Colin suggested.
"Alright, it's the best shot we got." Ginny send Luna agreed to play along.
For the rest of the ride, the group ate Basil's candy and talked about the houses they wanted to be in.
"I have a way to know what house you'll be in." Basill took out a deck of cards and spead them out. "Take one."
Colin, Ginny, and Luna each took out a card.
Colin and Ginny both got a lion while Luna got a raven.
"Congratulations, you two are Gryfindors and you are a ravenclaw."
"Does this actually work?" Colin was skeptical, all he saw was a normal deck of cards.
"Yea it works I personally made it and it has a one hundred percent success rate." Basil was proud of his creation.
Just then the train stopped. Doors opened and students began crowding the corridor.
"That's loud." Colin murmured
"Well I have something to show you guys." Basil took out a red marble ball showing it to the others.
"Whats that?" They asked.
"Just look closely." Basil threw the marble ball to the ground.
*BANG*
A bang and red flash startled everyone. When they came to their senses Basil had disappeared.
"Hey is everything alright here?" A red haired boy opened the door.
"Were alright Fred." Said Ginny.
"Oh Ginny! Are you nervous? Don't worry you just need to run away from a troll, Ron and Harry even defeated theirs." Another red haired boy appeared behind Fred.
"I know you lying George just give up." Ginny sighed.
"Sorry they are my brothers l, they like pranking people so don't believe what they say." Ginny said to Colin and Luna.
"Heh, well see you soon!" Fred and George disappeared into the crowd.
"I think we should catch up to Basil." Colin suggested.
"Yea." So the trio followed the crowd towards Hogwarts.
