For a moment… Jenna didn't react.
She bent over, hands on her knees, chest heaving, lungs dragging in air like they had forgotten how to breathe properly.

Then, a shaky laugh escaped her lips.

Relief crashed into her like an overwhelming wave. The tension that had been coiled tightly in her chest since the tunnel… since the system's countdown… since everything, finally snapped.
Her knees gave out and she dropped on the side of the highway, under the glaring highway lights that stretched far beyond the eyes could see.
Beside her was the unconscious Tina. She was very cold, wrapped in the covers from that settlement.
They were finally in Mega City.
She was finally safe. At least, for now.
