The silence that followed was deafening.
Rain stood within the crowd, unable to make out the words that Kebel had just dropped.
"What... what do you mean?" he stammered desperately, not wanting to entertain the wrong thoughts.
But before Kebel could say a word, Prince Marcus slammed his fist on the floor, unable to tolerate being ignored.
"Enough!" he growled.
His voice didn't sound as commanding as it used to, but Marcus wasn't too focused on that. He stared at everyone. They all looked at him. His face darkened with rage.
"I should be the one getting noticed and not this." He pointed directly at Rain. "He mutilated me... he turned me into this, and you all sit quiet and listen to a man make baseless narrations when you should be giving me the justice I deserve."
Raze laughed inside Rain's head.
"Oh... now he is suddenly aware?"
Rain sighed.
"You're lucky," he told Marcus.
"Lucky?" Marcus snarled.
Rain quietly stepped forward.
