"It's good!"
In the broadcast studio, Mike Breen grabbed his head and practically shouted after Blake buried the running ultra-deep three.
"Unbelievable!
"Blake hits another three! He actually made it! Four threes, 13 points in less than 35 seconds.
"He's really recreated the 'McGrady Moment'!"
Mike was trembling with excitement.
"Wow... wow... wow..."
Van Gundy could barely contain himself either. "There are eight seconds left, and Blake needed only 27 seconds to do it.
"He's recreated the 'McGrady Moment.'
"That legendary scoring burst from the Yao-McGrady era, the one that stunned the entire league, has actually happened again!"
On December 9, 2004, the Rockets hosted the Spurs.
In the final minute, Tracy McGrady scored 13 points in just 35 seconds, single-handedly completing an incredible comeback against San Antonio.
That sequence became known as the "McGrady Moment."
It was one of those NBA legends that seemed impossible to reproduce.
But tonight, in Game 7 of the Finals, "The Emperor" Blake had scored 13 points in only 27 seconds.
He had recreated the "McGrady Moment."
"BOOM!"
The home crowd erupted again after Blake's impossibly difficult three.
"Beep! Beep!"
Coach Spoelstra immediately called timeout.
With 1:25 remaining, the Heat had led by nine.
No, more accurately, with only 35 seconds remaining, Miami had still been up nine.
And yet, just 27 seconds later, that lead had been reduced to a single point.
How was anyone supposed to stay calm after that?
Spoelstra and the entire Heat roster were visibly rattled by Blake's barrage of impossible threes.
"Blake is unbelievable!"
In the stands, Federer exclaimed in amazement.
Messi shouted excitedly, "That running three, with no time to set himself, and he still made it.
"Blake is incredible!"
"Wow..."
Federer stared with his mouth open. "Four threes, 13 points in 27 seconds? That's ridiculous. Blake is completely unreal!"
"Blake!!!"
Yi Jianlian was so excited he barely knew what to say.
Yao Ming looked just as fired up.
"Blake, whether this championship dream comes true is up to you now.
"You've already recreated the 'McGrady Moment.'
"Keep doing the impossible and win this game for the Suns."
"What a crazy kid."
Pippen kept shaking his head. He no longer knew how to describe what Blake had done over the last half-minute.
Jordan was just as stunned.
"I think... tonight, it might actually look like God is playing through Blake."
Across the arena, Wall was practically shaking with excitement.
"Blake is unstoppable!"
Already a huge Blake fan, he could barely contain himself.
Even "Black Mamba" Kobe looked shaken before breaking into a smile.
"That's the man who beat me.
"Blake, tonight you're the best player on the floor.
"Even if you lose this game."
In the front row, Yoona covered her cheeks in excitement.
"Mia, it's only one point now! The Suns... the Suns are going to win!"
Mia Quinn nodded emphatically.
"Blake is the best!"
It felt as though everyone in the arena now believed that the Suns, trailing by only one, could complete the comeback and win the championship.
But at the commentary table, Van Gundy cut through the excitement.
"Eight seconds left. The Suns are down one, and the Heat have possession.
"Phoenix is still in a very difficult position.
"They'll have to foul.
"If Miami makes only one of two free throws, the Suns can tie it with a two, or win it with a three.
"But if Miami makes both free throws, then even another three only sends the game to overtime.
"And if the Heat go up three, they can also choose to foul before Phoenix gets a three-point attempt, forcing a free-throw battle and burning even more time.
"The Suns don't have time to spare."
"Exactly."
Mike Breen nodded as the thunderous noise rolled through the arena.
"The Suns can't celebrate yet.
"This game isn't over."
And it wasn't.
Phoenix was still in serious trouble.
On the Heat bench, Spoelstra gradually settled his players down.
All they had to do was survive the final eight seconds.
Then the championship would be theirs.
Soon, the timeout ended.
The final eight seconds of the entire season had arrived.
Heat ball.
Bosh stood on the baseline preparing to inbound.
But almost every set of eyes in the arena was fixed on "The Emperor."
On Blake, the "superhero" who already had 61 points.
Everyone was waiting to see whether he could complete one of the greatest comebacks imaginable.
Bosh inbounded.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The Suns pressed full court.
George and Curry shadowed Wade, Miami's most reliable free-throw shooter. The instant he caught the ball, they planned to foul him.
Blake stayed with LeBron.
Dragić guarded Chalmers.
Frye stayed with Haslem.
"Whoosh!"
Wade moved toward Bosh as if coming to receive the pass, then suddenly cut back.
He created just enough separation from Curry and George, pointed upward, and signaled for the ball.
"Whoosh!"
Bosh delivered it immediately.
"Smack!"
Wade caught the pass near the free-throw line.
But George and Curry hadn't lost him.
The instant Wade secured the ball...
"Whoosh!"
Both defenders lunged at him, trying to foul.
Wade, looking to burn another second or two, reacted immediately.
As they closed in, he whipped into a fast, wide spin move.
Both defenders missed him on the first attempt.
No contact meant no intentional foul.
"Damn!"
George and Curry were caught off guard.
They immediately tried to recover and foul again.
But just as they were about to close in...
"Screech!"
Wade's spin had been too wide.
His foot slipped.
His balance disappeared.
And as he finished the rotation, the ball flew out of his hands.
A Wade turnover?!
No one had expected it.
But what happened next was even stranger.
The loose ball flew directly toward the right side of the center-court logo...
And straight into LeBron's hands.
Everything happened so fast that almost no one reacted.
LeBron did.
The instant the ball landed in his hands, he exploded forward.
"Whoosh!"
Blake was half a step late.
He didn't have time to foul.
LeBron blew right past him.
"It's over!"
A fan screamed and grabbed his head.
By the time LeBron got past Blake, only 5.4 seconds remained.
Even if Phoenix managed to foul now, the Suns had no timeouts.
There simply wouldn't be enough time to go the length of the floor and get off a game-winning shot.
That logic was perfectly sound.
George and Curry had failed to foul Wade immediately.
Then Blake had reacted half a beat late to LeBron.
Several precious seconds were gone.
The Suns seemed finished.
But just as the crowd began sinking into despair, something looked wrong.
LeBron had accelerated away from the logo and crossed midcourt...
But the ball was gone.
"What?!"
LeBron's eyes widened.
He no longer had it.
Because just after LeBron had beaten him, Blake had recovered and unleashed [Eagle Spear].
"Smack!"
From behind, Blake stripped the ball cleanly out of LeBron's hands.
5.4 seconds.
"Go!"
There was no time to think.
Blake took possession and sprinted toward the frontcourt.
Bosh stayed near George and Curry, while "Flash" Wade rushed over to stop Blake.
"Whoosh!"
As Wade closed in and the two were about to collide, Blake spun past him without breaking stride and attacked the middle.
He glanced at the clock.
2.1 seconds.
No time to keep driving.
"Screech!"
Blake stopped on a dime.
"Whoosh!"
He rose for three.
Everything came down to this final shot.
But just as Blake was about to release the ball, a huge hand suddenly appeared above him from the right.
LeBron's hand.
"What?!"
Even Blake was caught off guard.
LeBron hadn't expected Blake to strip him with [Eagle Spear].
And Blake, focused on beating Wade and racing the clock, hadn't expected LeBron to recover so quickly either.
By the time Blake noticed him, it was too late.
LeBron's hand was already descending over the shot.
If Blake released it normally, it would be blocked.
If he held onto the ball, time would expire.
What could he do?!
Blake's mind raced, but there was no time to think.
Just as LeBron was about to swat the shot from Blake's right side, Blake, already in the air, switched hands.
The ball moved from his right hand to his left.
LeBron's block sailed past.
And then...
"Whoosh!"
Blake released the three with his left hand!
