Chapter 494 - Chapter 495: The Running Three, 61 Points, and That Terrifying Legend

"Oh my goodness!"

Mike's eyes went wide. "He made it! Blake was off balance and still knocked down an incredibly difficult three!

"And he got the foul!

"My God. Blake came back, missed his first two threes, and then suddenly caught fire. This is the kind of run only a 'superhero' could pull off!"

"Wow!"

Van Gundy was just as stunned. "There are 14.1 seconds remaining. From Blake's first made three after returning to this three-and-one opportunity, he's hit three threes.

"And he's done it in only... 20.9 seconds.

"That's nine points by Blake alone in just 20.9 seconds. If he makes this free throw, it'll be ten!"

"Swish!"

Right on cue, Blake stepped to the line and calmly buried the free throw.

Four-point play complete.

"In the blink of an eye, Blake has hit three straight threes, all of them incredibly difficult, and scored ten points by himself!

"The Suns were down nine. Now they're down only two!

"'The Emperor' Blake.

"This 'superhero' is unbelievable!"

In the stands, Pippen kept shaking his head in disbelief.

Jordan looked just as stunned.

"Blake's ability to deliver under pressure is incredible.

"And for a center to have this kind of three-point shooting ability? That's almost impossible to comprehend.

"Now they're only down two.

"He came back with just 1:25 remaining. Is he really about to lead the Suns to a miraculous comeback?"

Just thinking about it was enough to make even the "God of Basketball" draw a sharp breath.

"BOOM!"

The moment Blake completed the four-point play and cut the deficit to two, the entire arena erupted.

"The Emperor! The Emperor! The Emperor!"

"Superhero! Superhero! Superhero!"

"MVP! MVP! MVP!"

Every chant imaginable seemed to pour down from the stands.

Blake's incredible burst had sent the crowd into complete frenzy.

For a moment, people almost forgot there were only 14.1 seconds left.

The Suns were still down two.

And the Heat still had possession.

The situation was still heavily in Miami's favor.

Yet from the noise inside the arena, anyone walking in would have thought Phoenix was the team ahead.

On the court, the deafening home crowd and Blake's sudden scoring explosion were enough to make even "King James" LeBron uneasy.

He slapped both cheeks hard, forcing himself to settle down.

Then he looked at Bosh, who was clearly frustrated.

"You're fine. You defended that well. Don't let it get to you."

"Yeah."

Bosh nodded, though it was obvious the play was still bothering him.

LeBron then turned to Wade and Bosh.

"We need to stay calm."

Wade nodded.

"Fourteen-point-one seconds. Our ball. We're still ahead.

"Don't panic. Use the clock.

"We're going to win this."

...

Van Gundy stared at the numbers.

"If he hits one more three..."

He stopped.

Mike Breen looked over at him, and both men suddenly realized what that would mean.

Breen let out an incredulous laugh.

"One more three, and Blake would have 13 points in less than 30 seconds.

"Are we really about to see another 'McGrady Moment'?"

Neither commentator said anything more.

The possibility alone was almost too unbelievable to consider before it actually happened.

...

Back on the court, Blake's free throw had cut the deficit to two.

Play resumed.

Heat ball.

Bosh inbounded from the baseline while Wade and LeBron moved frantically to get open.

The Suns stayed in full-court pressure, desperately looking for a steal.

But the two targets were "Flash" Wade and "King James" LeBron.

"Whoosh!"

Wade doubled back and caught the inbound.

Blake gambled for another steal.

Missed.

"Whoosh!"

George immediately rushed in.

Not for the ball.

For Wade.

"Beep! Beep!"

The whistle sounded.

Another intentional foul by the Suns.

That gave George his fifth foul of the night.

Only 1.3 seconds had come off the clock.

12.8 seconds remained.

Wade stepped back to the free-throw line.

"Boooo!"

"Booooooo!"

The entire arena tried to rattle him.

It didn't work.

"Swish!"

"Swish!"

"Flash" Wade buried both again.

Six straight free throws in the clutch.

The Heat lead was back to four.

Now the Suns had the ball.

But Phoenix had no timeouts left.

They had to inbound from the backcourt.

Curry took the ball beneath the basket.

LeBron and Wade immediately locked onto Blake again.

But Curry already knew what to do.

He trusted Blake.

"Whoosh!"

Curry threw the ball high.

Straight toward the three of them.

"Thud!"

"Thud!"

"Thud!"

All three players jumped near the middle of the backcourt.

LeBron and Wade could both get up.

But Blake had the clear advantage in height and reach.

"Smack!"

He ripped the ball out of the air above both of them.

"Blake has already scored ten straight points since returning!

"He has 58 tonight!

"And now he's got the ball again with only 12.8 seconds left!"

Go!

Blake had no time to think.

He sprinted up the floor at full speed.

Wade and LeBron chased furiously from behind.

Ahead of him...

Bosh stepped up.

Blake suddenly slipped the ball between Bosh's legs while moving sideways.

The ball went one way.

Blake went around the other.

He never stopped moving.

He blew past Bosh, gathered the ball again, and continued his sprint.

For a center to handle the ball with that much control at full speed was incredible.

Blake crossed midcourt.

Chalmers stepped up too.

10.4 seconds remained.

Blake reached the middle above the arc.

Still nearly two meters behind the three-point line.

He rose!

"Wow!"

A running three!

Racing against the clock, Blake launched another ultra-deep three while still moving forward!

He had already made three impossible shots from deep during this run.

Could he hit another?!

"BANG!"

"UNBELIEVABLE!"

Off the glass!

Blake banked in the running ultra-deep three!

Sixty-one points tonight!

And more importantly...

The Suns were now down by only one!
