Chapter 156 - 155

Chapter 155

A Sacred Aura

After some time had passed, Zhuo Fan awakened, having completely recovered from all his injuries. Not a single scratch remained on his body, and all of it was thanks to that overwhelming blue flame that had restored him from the inside out.

"Ooooh… Zhuo, you little bastard, you finally woke up." Arthur said in a mocking tone as he looked at him.

Zhuo Fan slowly raised his head and stared at him before speaking seriously.

"Arthur… are you alright?"

Arthur gave a sideways smile and said,

"Are you surprised I survived or something, you damned bastard? At the very least, you should've taken Ning'er and escaped instead of running away alone."

Zhuo Fan froze for a moment.

"Arthur, I—"

Arthur interrupted him with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"Oh, spare me the drama, please. It doesn't suit you. Ning'er is fine, and that other bastard is fine too. Looks like we survived this time, all thanks to that powerful aura that made the Seventh Elder flee with his tail between his legs."

Arthur did not explain the full truth, nor did he tell Zhuo Fan how close the Seventh Elder had come to dying if not for his loss of concentration at the last moment. The defeat of the Seventh Elder could not be credited to Arthur alone; without the others fighting and constantly exhausting his energy, he never would have weakened to such an extent.

If Arthur and the Seventh Elder had fought face-to-face without any interference, there would have been a real chance of Arthur's defeat. But the draining of the Seventh Elder's power by Zhuo Fan, Xie Tianyang, and Ning'er was what allowed Arthur to decide the battle… and come close to killing him.

Zhuo Fan merely wore a calm smile as he listened to Arthur's brief explanation of what had happened the previous day.

Three months later—

Everyone had fully recovered from their injuries. Xie Tianyang was practicing with his sword, attempting to split a massive boulder in order to impress Ning'er, who watched him with a smile. Meanwhile, on the other side, Arthur calmly worked on refining the diamond sands and merging them with Wrath in complete concentration.

Zhuo Fan had just returned from training, and before long, an argument erupted between him and Xie Tianyang.

"Why are you two fighting like this? Weren't you friends?" Ning'er asked gently.

Xie Tianyang replied angrily,

"This is all because of you, Ning'er! I'm still angry because this bastard abandoned you before."

Zhuo Fan laughed mockingly.

"Oh? Weren't you the one who suggested abandoning Ning'er in the first place?"

The two argued heatedly while Ning'er tried to calm them down. Meanwhile, Arthur watched the scene with a quiet smile.

"It seems I'm the only one who hasn't used the 'abandon Ning'er' plan yet." he said sarcastically.

The two became irritated by his mockery, while Ning'er burst into laughter. She stepped forward lightly, took Arthur's hand, then gathered the hands of all three together.

"Alright… let the past stay in the past. From now on, we're friends… no, brothers."

Everyone smiled at her purity and kindness.

Zhuo Fan then looked toward Arthur and said,

"Alright, it's time to leave, Arthur."

Arthur nodded, then walked forward alongside Zhuo Fan, leaving Xie Tianyang and Ning'er behind.

"Where are you two going?" Ning'er asked.

"The third region."

"But the Seventh Elder isn't chasing us anymore, so why are we going there?"

Zhuo Fan explained his plan from the beginning, clarifying that heading to the third region had always been his original goal and not simply an escape from the Seventh Elder. Xie Tianyang wanted to withdraw and take Ning'er with him to fulfill their agreement, and Arthur did not object, since the mission's failure would not affect him.

But Ning'er refused. She stepped forward with obvious determination and followed Zhuo Fan and Arthur without hesitation. Xie Tianyang had no choice left but to accompany them.

One month later—

After an entire month of cautiously advancing while hiding from powerful spirit beasts, the atmosphere finally calmed. Everyone was finally able to stand at ease after entering the third region of Beast Mountain.

Xie Tianyang was not comfortable with this decision, but he could not retreat because of Ning'er's insistence. He did not understand the reason behind her attachment to those two men; was it admiration? Or simply a love of adventure?

Suddenly, the ground trembled violently, and the sound of a terrifying collision echoed through the surroundings. Everyone noticed a magical explosion nearby.

A crafty smile appeared on Zhuo Fan's face before he rushed forward.

'A battle between two spirit beasts… the Thunder Bird and the Flame King. The Thunder Bird is stronger, but it'll come out weakened after the fight. Perhaps I can tame it using the Snow Worm.'

They followed the fierce battle, but the tide suddenly shifted in favor of the Flame King.

"It's protecting its children." Arthur said while pointing toward a nest containing enormous eggs.

The Thunder Bird was fighting purely on instinct, the instinct to protect its offspring no matter the cost. But the Flame King noticed its weakness and began attacking toward the nest.

At that moment, Zhuo Fan and Xie Tianyang quickly moved toward the nest because of Ning'er's kindness. They carefully picked it up and attempted to retreat, but the Thunder Bird noticed them.

It could not understand human intentions; its instincts told it they were stealing its children. In that moment of distraction, the Flame King seized the opportunity and unleashed a fiery strike that pierced through the Thunder Bird's chest.

The bird collapsed on the verge of death.

The Flame King lunged toward the humans. Zhuo Fan threw the nest aside and fled, while Xie Tianyang quickly moved as well. But Ning'er suddenly rushed toward the nest, completely ignoring the danger.

She threw her small body over the eggs to protect them. Xie Tianyang stood before her with his sword raised, and Zhuo Fan followed to protect everyone.

The situation had become extremely dangerous. The Flame King approached with the intention of killing all three of them.

And truthfully… it could do exactly that.

Compared to a beast like the Flame King, the three of them were merely tiny chicks it could kill with ease if it wished.

At that moment, Zhuo Fan truly felt foolish.

Why did he rush forward? Why did he step in? Did he want death? Had he forgotten his revenge? Had he forgotten the Luo family? Was death here truly the end?

And suddenly…

The earth shook with a thunderous roar.

{Stop, you lowly beast!}

The pressure of a sacred ruler's aura descended upon the Flame King's body with unimaginable force. It felt as though the entire world had collapsed upon him.

Then two gigantic palms formed from overwhelming spiritual energy moved forward. Two palms capable of folding the heavens and earth together with ease.

The right palm seized the ground, while the left descended from the sky like another planet intending to destroy the entire world.

Space trembled, and the air itself tore apart from the sheer force as the entire surrounding mountain region shook from the horror that had descended upon them.

Every beast trembled violently. Legendary beasts that had never once felt fear in their lives nearly lost their minds from the terror crushing the world before their eyes.

As for the Flame King, who stood directly in the center of the storm—

its body shook wildly in terror and fear before it fled in panic, its tail tucked between its legs.

The three remained frozen in place, unable to move… completely uncertain of what had just happened.
