After eating, Rosalie wanted a rematch against Emmett.
Seeing this Emmett laughed provokingly.
Does she really think she can surpass me just like that?
A day of grinding? I've spent years!
Mornings, days, evenings, nights.
Emmett was stoked to show Rosalie just how big the difference between them was.
It was simply an insurmountable chasm
Silas watched as Rosalie dragged the disdainful Emmett towards his man cave.
Sigh.
I have a feeling Emmett is going to get a rude awakening soon.
Because Rosalie is becoming better and better at video games and it's not long before she's as good as Emmett.
Alice clicked her tongue.
"Do you think Rosalie can win?"
Silas curled his lips.
"No, not yet at least."
Alice frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Silas glanced at her.
"Rosalie is becoming better at a rapid pace, and it shouldn't be long before she catches up with Emmett."
Alice raised an eyebrow.
"Really? But Emmett has played a lot of video games."
"Can… can Rosalie really catch up with that?"
Silas smiled at Alice.
"We'll see, won't we?"
Alice chuckled.
"I guess… it would be very fun to see Emmett's expression as his wife beats him at the hobby he's invested a lot of time into."
"Right?" Silas agreed.
This is schadenfreude at its peak, watching someone slowly moving towards misery without knowing.
Hehe.
After briefly helping Esme take all the dishes to the kitchen, Silas and Alice headed towards Emmett's man cave.
Just as they were about to walk in they heard a laugh. It was Emmett's laugh.
"Haha."
"What did I tell you, you're not beating me."
Rosalie then grunted.
"Let's go again."
Silas and Alice walked in and sat down where they sat before.
After a few rounds Silas could see how much better Rosalie was then when he arrived today.
Alice seemed to notice it as well, she glanced over at Silas with a raised eyebrow.
Seemingly asking if he was seeing the same thing as her.
Silas nodded.
Slowly two smiles formed on their mouths.
This was fun.
And it also seems like everybody here has noticed except for Emmett.
He was still wallowing in his glory.
His arrogance completely made him blind to the obvious increase of danger from his opponent.
The entire evening and night passed like this.
They would switch controllers between each other, and even Alice played a few rounds.
With Silas's coaching Alice slowly started to get the hang of it.
She wasn't really winning but at least she could go back and forth.
Silas was still dominating, neither Emmett nor Rosalie could win.
When the sun rose in the sky, gleaming through the drapes over the windows a knock was heard on the door.
"Silas, it's breakfast." Esme said through the door.
Hearing that, Silas handed the controller to Rosalie, she gladly accepted it.
She was still waiting for revenge against Emmett.
Alice followed along and grabbed his arm sweetly as they walked out.
"Do you think I'll also be able to beat Emmett soon?" Alice asked.
Silas put on a thoughtful expression, then smiled.
"A few more nights like this and some more coaching from me, and it's not impossible."
Hearing this Alice got happy.
She even laughed obscenely.
It seems Alice is really keen on the idea of beating Emmett at what he is best at.
To be honest, Silas felt that both Rosalie and Alice were a little evil for this.
After all this was Emmett's passion that he was the most proud of.
But then again when he remembered how much Emmett had been pestering him he felt that he deserved it.
Plus this is a good learning experience for Emmett, he can become better and squeeze out more of his potential.
You need to look at it from more than one perspective.
Just then they arrived in the kitchen.
"Is it okay if you eat breakfast here?" Esme asked.
Silas nodded.
"Absolutely."
Esme smiled, this way she didn't need to carry the plates there, plus she felt that when there were so few people that it was warmer to be in the kitchen.
Silas sat down at the kitchen island and started to eat.
He wasn't sure what he was eating.
Some type of fried bread with yoghurt and fruits.
There was also something that seemed like ice cream, but it wasn't ice cream.
It might've been some type of blended fruit that was very viscous.
Well, it didn't matter since it tasted good.
Just as he was about to finish his food he heard a car pull up onto the drive way.
Esme smiled when she heard that.
"It seems Edward is back with Bella."
Alice looked over at Esme.
"Has Edward already picked up Bella?"
Esme nodded with a motherly smile.
"He was quite excited this morning and left very early."
Silas was a bit disbelieving, he couldn't quite picture Edward excited.
He was all doom and gloom in his head.
They heard the front door open and then how the footsteps grew louder as they walked up the stairs and made their way towards the kitchen.
It didn't take long before they came into view.
"Hello Esme." Bella said awkwardly and raised her hand in a small waving motion.
Esme stepped forward.
"Bella, do you want some breakfast?" She said and pointed towards Silas who was stuffing his face.
Seeing that all the attention was on him, Silas couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.
After all, he wasn't exactly in a glorious position.
"No, it's alright, I already ate before I left."
Hearing that Esme's smile froze for a second before returning to normal.
"No worries, more for Silas then."
Hearing that he was Esme's dumping ground Silas couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.
But also happy, more food for him.
Alice on the side also chuckled a little at that, then she greeted Bella.
"Hello Bella, are you ready for baseball?"
Bella smiled awkwardly.
"Hey Alice, well… I can't really play baseball."
Alice stepped forward.
"Don't worry, you can just spectate, and of course cheer for me and Silas."
Hearing his name Silas looked up and made a flexing motion with his left arm.
Bella smiled.
"Will do."
