Chapter 60 - Greenhouse

Silas got out of the car and grabbed his permission slip.

"Alice, do you have your permission slip?" He asked.

Alice closed the door and looked up, she raised her hand with a smile.

In her hand was her permission slip.

"Yep."

Silas closed his car door and locked the car.

"Let's go."

He walked up beside Alice and grabbed her hand as they walked towards Mr. Banner.

"Kids! Kids! Hand over your permission slips!" Mr.Banner was waving a stack of papers around and reminding.

Silas smiled and walked up with his permission slip.

Mr. Banner didn't even look at it and just added it to the pile.

He did the same with Alice's.

Just as I expected. Silas praised himself in his heart. Why would a teacher waste time inspecting every signature?

It doesn't happen… unless they are suspicious of you.

And why would they be suspicious of me? I'm a model student.

Just then he felt Alice tugging at his arm.

"Let's head over there." She pointed towards her siblings who were getting on one of the buses.

Silas got dragged along. He didn't care which bus they were getting on.

He just didn't wanna sit with any weirdos… ahem, Bella.

They got on the bus and walked towards the back where the Cullens had flocked.

Alice pulled him to a seat that was beside Emmett and Rosalie, they were only separated by the aisle.

"My good brother, are you ready for the greenhouse?" Emmett asked.

Silas let out a laugh.

"Am I ready? For what? The man eating plants? Or the toxic fumes from the manure?"

Emmett smiled mysteriously.

"Who knows… "

Watching Emmett's chuunibyou behaviour Silas shook his head.

"Have you watched anime?" Silas, asked Emmett.

Emmett, who was playing mysteriously, quickly turned his head towards Silas.

"How did you know?"

Rosalie beside him started to chuckle.

Silas hearing Emmett's question just smiled mysteriously.

"I don't know… maybe it's the greenhouse fumes."

Emmett heard this and frowned.

"We aren't even at the greenhouse." Emmett said.

Silas just didn't fold.

"No. Maybe it's spreading…"

"We might all be infected."

Alice watched Silas's bad acting and started to laugh.

Their loudness attracted the attention of other students who looked over.

Jasper who was talking to Ella was also confused.

"What are you talking about, and if you're gonna continue, be more quiet."

Emmett and Silas just laughed in response.

Jasper shook his head and leaned back in his seat.

Unbelievable.

Soon all the students had boarded the buses, and they started to drive towards the greenhouse.

Emmett and Silas quieted down, there's no need to attract the hatred of everyone.

Silas and Alice kinda got lost in their own world as the buses kept driving.

After a few minutes they arrived at the greenhouse.

The students slowly started to get off the bus, although the teacher said in an orderly manner.

No one stepped off in an orderly manner.

Everyone just shoved each other and stepped on each other's feet to get off as quickly as possible.

Just for the sake of getting off faster than others.

Silas and Alice waited for everyone to get off before standing up.

They weren't in a hurry.

Before they knew it the bus was empty. Silas stood up and pulled Alice up as well.

"Let's get off, before the teacher comes looking for us."

Alice smiled.

"That would be a little embarrassing."

As Silas stepped out of the bus, Emmett spotted them and teased them.

"I thought you two would never get out."

Silas played along.

"Yeah, we didn't really want to… but duty calls."

Emmett just chuckled. He knew teasing Silas didn't work, because he was too thick skinned.

Emmett knew that there must be a way to make him embarrassed; he just hasn't found out how… yet.

Slowly the teacher started to round up all the students and count them.

"Alright, students, you need to be orderly inside the greenhouse. No running around."

All the students nodded symbolically.

Of course that was just wishful thinking on the teachers part.

As they stepped inside everyone just kinda did their own thing.

The group moved along the designated path, but sometimes students would see something that attracted them and walk off.

Causing the teacher to have to call them back.

All this just leads to more chaos.

Silas looked at this and sighed. This poor teacher.

If I had this job I would probably just quit on the spot.

Cause look at him. He was running around like a border collie to round up all these students.

He didn't even have time to breathe before another pair of students walked off.

Alice also saw this. She had an expression of pity on her face.

After all, most students liked Mr. Banner. He was a good teacher.

But most teenagers don't think about others, they think about themselves and if they are having fun in the moment.

And it can cost what it will, as long as they don't suffer. And if a teacher suffers in their place.

Perfect.

Silas pulled Alice along to the front of the group so he could avoid all the shoving.

Just then he felt Alice tug at him.

"Look."

Silas looked over and saw Edward talking to Bella.

He looked at Alice's expression and sighed. She clearly liked watching these two awkward people.

Bella was walking, still kinda dissatisfied that Edward hadn't just told her all his secrets, and Edward was trying to make her believe him stopping the van was all just an adrenaline rush.

Google it.

Please.

The more he watched the less Silas wanted to keep watching.

"Do you think it's fun watching them be all awkward?" Silas asked Alice.

She looked up at him with a big smile.

"Yeah, it's really fun."

Silas shook his head. A wry smile formed in his lips. Clearly Alice liked schadenfreude.

Silas was a fan of watching others' misfortune as well… but he couldn't bear the awkwardness between Edward and Bella.

The rest of the greenhouse trip went well. Mr. Banner introduced a lot of cool stuff.

Although most will probably forget this tomorrow morning…it was quite entertaining in the moment.

As they got on the bus again Silas watched how Alice invited Bella to their bus when she was talking to Edward.

But Edward quickly stepped in to shoot it down. He didn't want to sit with Bella. Or well he did… but he didn't want to admit it.

The bus ride back was pretty uneventful.

When they arrived at the school, Silas and Alice did the usual and stayed behind so everyone else could step off before also stepping off.

The teacher rounded up all the students and counted them. When the numbers made sense he let us go.

So we got to end school early today. Which was the best part of the day.

And it was Friday today… which meant he was going to the Cullens.

Which both Alice and Emmett had made him painfully aware of. Especially Emmett. Alice wasn't so bad.

But this entire week, Emmett had kept reminding him.

And he had been doing it more and more the closer we got to the weekend.

Silas walked over to his car and opened the passenger seat for Alice.

"My lady." He said while doing some exaggerated movements.

Alice smiled and got in.

"Thank you, sir."

Silas smiled and closed the door. He then walked around to his side and got in.

Let's head to the Cullens.
