Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3

With the new resolve, she silently called for the system. Instantly, the majority of her vision was covered by the translucent window. Then she clicked the one of the menu with the label [Character Information].

Such complete information!

The information provided by the system was quite comprehensive, it even gave some comments to some info. The comment might be some indication of how the numbers compared to others.

How good of a system to give such feedback!

Next she clicked on the next menu, [Inventory]. There were 10 empty boxes, indicating that these boxes were for items that she might find through her journey.

How convenient, I don't have to carry all of the items then.

Last, she opened the [Mission] menu as the [Chat] had been going through since the beginning. Even until now the speed of the passing comment in the [Chat] was still unbelievablely fast.

[Mission]

[Create a simple raft]

[Create a simple raft for your ocean voyage within 12 hours]

[Requirements: Fiber x30, Wood x20]

[Failure to complete the mission will result in elimination]

This mission was the one that had initiated all of this chaos, but for her this mission was the start of a new beginning. So she needed to try her best to fulfill it.

After all of the reading, to find the necessary information to understand the situation, her resolve became even stronger. Now she needed to observe her surroundings first before anything else, as the system had commented before as she was super weak, anything can be a danger for her.

The island she was on was quiet. As far as she knew as she was day dreaming and zoning out while reading the system, no creature had walked near her. So it is safe to say that her luck had already worked hard for her.

The beach area that she was on was very vast, covering most of her vision with white sand. Some coconut trees and other beach tall trees scattered throughout the area too. As she kept on observing, a sudden translucent window popped up in front of her.

[Skill triggered]

[Observation skill is used]

[White Sand Beach: A pristine beach of powdery white sand with some washed-up supplies]

A skill!

The new window gave a description of the beach area. This skill might be quite useful! She continued to check the new menu icon that appears, [Skill].

[Skill]

[Observation Skill (Lv. 1): A beginner's appraisal skill that reveals a target's name and a brief description.]

The skill that was described in the translucent window was pretty useful for the journey. Although it was just still Lv. 1, it's better than being confused with no knowledge.

Better to start observing everything from now on, huh…

After closing all of the opened translucent windows, she started to walk towards the bunch of items near the shore. As she was focused on one of the information given by the system, washed-up supplies. She didn't have any tools nor the strength to forage the heavy items like wood, so better to try her luck on those washed-up supplies.

On the shore area there was some scattered debris, some mingled with washed-up sea weed, mixed with some driftwoods. Upon coming closer to it, she can see some other things tangled in it.

[Skill triggered]

[Washed-up ocean debris: Scattered debris, driftwood, with some tangled seaweed blanket the shore. Might have hidden some crate supplies.]

Lucky me!

The description fired up her steps to get close faster. When she arrived near the pile of debris, she could see a bunch of seaweeds tangled together with some driftwood. As she looked closely, there was something wriggling inside the tangled seaweed. But that was not the most important thing at this point. Near to the middle parts of the tangled mess, laid a sturdy wooden crate. The crate's wood looks old but still holds up the items inside it perfectly well.

However, it was still best to observe it first. How bad would it be if it actually held some danger for her.

[Skill Triggered]

[Wooden Crate: A weathered common wooden crate washed ashore by the tides]

The description already gave a heads up that the crate was safe, so she walked towards it not minding to step on the seaweed. The crate has only one opening on the top part of it, so she pushed open the lid.

[Wooden Crate Open]

[Fatigue: 10/100]

[Obtained:

Wood x5

Fiber x7

Rope x1

Canned Peaches x1

Dried fruit mix x1

Bottled Fresh Water x2

Scrap Metal x2

Simple Crafting Blueprint Fragment (1/3)]

All of the items directly went to the [Inventory], now 8 out of the 10 blank boxes already filled with the newly found items.

How convenient!

As she looked closely to the crate again, another translucent window popped up.

[Do you want to disassemble the Wooden Crate into Wood x2?]

[Yes] | [No]

She didn't think twice but to directly disassemble the crate.

[Obtained:

Wood x2]

[Fatigue: 15/100]

As the crate was no longer there, the washed-up debris now had more space for her to look at what was in it. She tried to rummage through the debris. Then another translucent window popped up from the action.

[Rummaging Washed-up Debris is successful]

[Fatigue: 25/100]

[Obtained:

Driftwood x9

Dried Seaweed x5

Weathered Woven Basket

Tattered cloth bundle x1]

[Would you like to convert the Driftwood x3  into Wood x1?]

So the driftwood can be converted into wood too. This was a huge find for her, as she didn't have any tools to help cut for any wood.

Shen Qinglian thought it was a no-brainer to directly convert the driftwood wood, especially when she had no other use for regular driftwood.

Now, all of her [Inventory] box was full with the newly found items, except for the [Tattered Cloth Bundle]. Shen Qinglian tried to use her skill to observe it.

[Skill Triggered]

[Tattered Cloth Bundle: a waterproof oil cloth bundle containing some items in it.]

[Do you want to open it?]

Of course, it's free items again!

[Tattered Cloth Bundle open]

[Obtained:

Simple Crafting Blueprint Fragment (2/3)

Canned peaches x1]

Now all of her 10 boxes of inventory were filled with newly found items from this one pile of debris. The system really didn't lie about its comment about her luck. Cause what lucky streak she just has!
