Chapter 140 - One Hundred and Thirty Nine:The Heart of Creation

The beam of golden light pierced the heavens like the birth of a new sun.

The entire Sanctuary at the Edge of Dawn trembled beneath its awakening as ancient rivers of light surged violently through the floating city. Cracked towers repaired themselves partially. Forgotten runes reignited across bridges and walls.

The sanctuary was no longer sleeping.

It was alive.

And far beyond the barriers, Vaelthoros roared in fury.

The Primordial slammed one of its colossal claws against the outer barrier.

The entire sanctuary shook violently.

Several floating islands shattered instantly while cracks spread across the golden defensive walls surrounding the city. Dawn Sentinels were thrown backward as primordial corruption crawled through the fractures like living poison.

Luke staggered slightly as the pressure hit him.

It felt like reality itself was screaming.

"LUKE!" Lucien grabbed him immediately before the unstable terrace beneath them collapsed.

The Spirit Guide spread its wings protectively.

The barriers will not survive another direct strike!

As if answering the dragon's words, Vaelthoros raised another massive claw. Thousands of hollow eyes glowed across its monstrous body while darkness twisted around it like storms from the end of existence.

"RETURN THE HEART."

Its voice cracked the skies themselves.

Luke's pendant burned painfully against his chest.

Then golden beam started erupting from the sanctuary center pulsed again.

And Luke heard it.

Not a voice exactly.

A feeling.

Warm. Ancient. Calling him home.

The Heart of Creation was summoning him directly now.

Luke clutched the pendant tightly.

"It wants me to come."

The Father of All appeared beside them instantly, golden energy swirling around him.

"Then there is no more time."

Another strike hit the barrier.

CRAAAAAAACK.

This time a massive section shattered completely.

Primordial darkness flooded into the outer sanctuary districts immediately. Floating structures began collapsing into void corruption while the Dawn Guardians marched forward to intercept the spreading chaos.

The battle had begun.

"Move!" Lucien ordered sharply.

The group rushed across the glowing crystal bridges toward the center of the sanctuary while chaos erupted behind them. Dawn Sentinels engaged corrupted void creatures pouring through the shattered barrier while ancient guardian constructs unleashed devastating streams of Balance energy into the darkness.

Luke looked back only once.

And instantly wished he hadn't.

Vaelthoros was enormous beyond comprehension.

The Primordial towered over the sanctuary itself now, its body distorting reality around it with every movement. Entire portions of the city warped unnaturally beneath its presence. Time flickered. Gravity failed. Light bent sideways.

And still… it kept advancing.

The Spirit Guide flew overhead protectively while Lucien stayed close beside Luke through the collapsing pathways.

"Eyes forward," Lucien said firmly.

Luke nodded shakily.

They crossed through ancient courtyards and glowing halls as the sanctuary awakened more fully around them. Echoes of architects appeared again briefly throughout the city—golden spirits watching silently as the heir of Balance passed through the streets they once protected.

Some bowed respectfully.

Others looked sorrowful.

As though they already knew what this journey would cost.

Finally, they reached the inner sanctuary.

Luke stopped completely.

Ahead of them stood the Heart Chamber.

Massive crystal doors towered toward the glowing skies above, covered entirely in living golden runes that moved like flowing rivers across the surface. Streams of ancient energy spiraled around the chamber while the golden beam erupted directly from within it.

The Heart was inside.

And the closer Luke got…

the stronger its presence became.

His chest tightened painfully.

Not from fear.

From recognition.

The pendant around his neck floated slightly as golden light poured from it toward the chamber doors.

The Dawn Sentinels surrounding the entrance immediately knelt.

"The Heart awaits the Dawnblood heir."

Lucien stepped beside Luke quietly.

"You ready?"

Luke stared at the chamber silently.

"No."

That earned the faintest smile from Lucien.

"Good," he said softly. "Means you're thinking properly."

Before Luke could answer.

BOOOOOOOOM.

The entire sanctuary shook harder than before.

Everyone turned sharply.

Far behind them, Vaelthoros had breached the second barrier.

Darkness flooded across entire districts now. Dawn Guardians fell one after another beneath primordial corruption while the skies above the sanctuary dimmed rapidly.

The Spirit Guide's eyes narrowed urgently.

It is reaching the inner city too quickly.

The Father of All stepped toward Luke immediately.

"Go."

Luke looked up nervously.

"What about all of you?"

Lucien unsheathed his sword fully as infernal flames erupted violently around him.

"We'll buy you time."

Luke's eyes widened.

"No....."

"Luke."

Lucien's voice stopped him instantly.

For a moment, father and son simply stared at each other while chaos consumed the sanctuary around them.

Then Lucien stepped closer and rested his forehead gently against Luke's.

A rare gesture.

A vulnerable one.

"You are not alone anymore," Lucien whispered. "Remember that."

Luke's throat tightened painfully.

Then the Heart Chamber doors began opening by themselves.

The entire sanctuary illuminated blindingly gold.

Warm energy flooded outward like sunlight after endless winter.

And within that light…

Luke saw her.

Not fully real.

Not fully memory.

Celestia stood within the chamber smiling softly at him, silver hair flowing in the golden winds.

"Come, my little star."

Tears filled Luke's eyes instantly.

Behind him, Vaelthoros roared loud enough to shake creation.

Ahead of him, the Heart of Creation called him home.

And trembling between destiny and fear…

Luke stepped into the light.
