Chapter 93 - Chapter Ninety Two: Lilith's Discovery

Deep within the forgotten corridors of the Veil Archive, Lilith stood before the ancient pedestal with quiet triumph glowing in her crimson eyes.

The chamber was vast and circular, its towering walls filled with thousands of sealed relics, forbidden records, and secrets that the celestial courts had buried across the ages. Every artifact in the room carried the faint hum of powerful enchantments designed to keep the truth hidden.

But Lilith had always been talented at finding hidden things.

Her long dark hair fell over her shoulders as she slowly approached the stone pedestal at the center of the chamber. Upon it rested a scroll wrapped in golden thread, sealed with the ancient mark of the celestial courts.

The Petition Scroll.

The very document that could shatter Heaven's authority.

Lilith's lips curved into a satisfied smile.

"So this is what they were so desperate to hide."

Behind her stood several figures cloaked in shadow—witches from the outer covens and two pale vampires whose crimson eyes scanned the chamber cautiously. These were not her strongest followers, but they were loyal enough for this task.

One of the witches stepped forward nervously.

"My queen… are you certain it is safe?"

Lilith glanced at her without turning.

"Nothing in this Archive is safe."

She reached out and lifted the scroll.

The moment her fingers touched the parchment, the golden seal cracked open with a faint sound, as though the magic protecting it had simply given up resisting her.

Lilith unrolled the scroll slowly.

Her eyes moved across the ancient writing.

At first, satisfaction filled her expression.

"Yes… yes…"

But then something changed.

Her smile faded.

The chamber grew colder.

Lilith read the text again, slower this time.

The witches behind her exchanged uncertain glances.

"My queen?"

Lilith said nothing.

Her crimson eyes darkened with growing irritation.

"This…"

She rolled the scroll closed with a sharp motion.

"…is a forgery."

The witches stiffened.

"What?"

Lilith's voice grew dangerously quiet.

"This is not the original Petition Scroll."

She turned slowly, her gaze burning with fury.

"This is a copy."

One of the vampires frowned.

"But the Archive is supposed to contain the original records."

Lilith's eyes narrowed.

"Yes."

Her mind was already moving rapidly.

If this was a copy… then someone had reached the real scroll first.

Only a few beings even knew the true history of the Petition.

Only a few knew where the original might have been hidden.

Her eyes flashed suddenly with realization.

"Celestia."

The witches looked confused.

"How could she know?"

Lilith's voice became cold.

"The Spirit Guide."

The name hung in the chamber like poison.

Lilith's fingers tightened around the fake scroll.

"They went to the past."

One of the witches swallowed nervously.

"Then… they must already have the real document."

Lilith closed her eyes briefly.

For a moment, silence filled the chamber.

Then she began to laugh softly.

Not with amusement.

With something far more dangerous.

"So the little queen has learned to move ahead of me."

The vampires shifted uneasily.

Lilith opened her eyes again, and the fury in them had transformed into something calmer.

Something calculated.

"Very well."

She placed the false scroll back onto the pedestal.

"If Celestia has the real Petition…"

Her smile slowly returned.

"…then I no longer need to search for it."

The witches stared.

"My queen?"

Lilith began walking toward the exit of the chamber.

Her long cloak trailed behind her like living shadow.

"Let them carry the truth."

The witches followed quickly.

"But… doesn't that weaken our plan?"

Lilith's smile widened.

"No."

Her voice lowered.

"It improves it."

She stopped near the chamber entrance and looked back once more at the sealed relics lining the walls.

"Heaven fears the Petition Scroll because it exposes their crimes."

Her eyes gleamed.

"But imagine what happens when the truth comes from the heir of Balance herself."

The witches slowly began to understand.

"You intend to force Celestia to reveal it."

Lilith nodded.

"Yes."

A vampire frowned slightly.

"But why would she?"

Lilith's voice turned cold again.

"Because I will make the war unavoidable."

She walked out of the chamber.

"The moment Heaven believes Celestia possesses proof of their corruption…"

Her smile sharpened.

"…they will try to destroy her."

The witches followed her through the dark corridors of the Archive.

"And when they do…"

Lilith's crimson eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

"…the entire realm will see exactly what kind of justice Heaven truly represents."

Far away, beyond the mountains of the First Sanctuary, Celestia stood beneath the pale sky with the real Petition Scroll carefully secured within her cloak.

Lucien walked beside her as they began their journey back.

"You look troubled," he said quietly.

Celestia nodded slightly.

"This scroll changes everything."

Naamah walked ahead of them, lazily twirling her blade.

"Well… that was the point, wasn't it?"

Celestia exhaled slowly.

"Yes."

But something about the situation felt wrong.

The Spirit Guide appeared beside her again.

"You feel it too."

Celestia looked at the glowing figure.

"Yes."

Lucien glanced between them.

"Feel what?"

Celestia's voice lowered.

"Lilith."

The Guide nodded.

"She knows."

Lucien sighed.

"Of course she does."

Celestia looked toward the distant horizon where the skies darkened slowly.

"She's going to force Heaven's hand."

Naamah stopped walking.

"That sounds messy."

Lucien gave a grim smile.

"When has it ever been anything else?"

Above them, the heavens remained silent.

But within the hidden courts of Heaven—

the Celestials had already begun preparing their next move.

Because rumors had reached them.

Rumors that the heir of Balance now carried the truth of their ancient sin.
