Chapter 194: Prologue to the Emperor of the Crystal Tower
Whitney was not interested in things from the Pokemon academic world, and her interactions with other peers were not very good, so she was still completely unaware of the currently semi-public Mega Evolution.
"This is called Mega Evolution. It is a special battle system that activates the bond between a Trainer and their Pokemon through a key stone and a Mega Evolution ite, generating a powerful force that allows them to temporarily evolve."
"Whitney, be careful. Mega Heracross is very powerful, especially its strength," Ash warned.
Watching the rolling Miltank, Ash curled his lips slightly and shouted, "Heracross, stick your horn into the ground!"
Mega Heracross braced its stance, drove its horn into the ground, and tensed its body to act as a ramp, launching Miltank into the air.
Its curled-up body also uncurled because it was in mid-air.
"Very good, Heracross, now use Superpower!" Ash continued to command.
"Miltank, use Endure and take its attack."
Miltank was in mid-air with nowhere to gain leverage, so Whitney could only hope that Miltank could withstand Mega Heracross's attack.
However, she still underestimated the power of Mega Heracross's Superpower. After being hit twice in succession, Miltank's eyes swirled into spirals as it landed.
"Miltank is unable to battle. Gym Leader Whitney, three Pokemon are unable to battle, so the winner of this match is Ash from Pallet Town!" the referee announced the result of the battle.
After Whitney recalled Miltank, she took out a diamond-shaped badge and handed it to Ash, saying, "Ash, I lost this match. This is the official badge, please accept it!"
"Thank you, Whitney," Ash said.
After obtaining the badge, Ash and the others did not leave immediately but chose to stay and explore Goldenrod City for two days.
During these two days, Whitney 'took' Ash and the others around the entire Goldenrod City, and finally, they even visited a Miltank farm on the outskirts of Goldenrod City.

"In the world, there are many, many Pokemon that only exist in legends and have never been seen by people. This book depicts what people imagine those Pokemon look like."
Inside a luxurious ancient castle, a middle-aged man was sitting by the bed telling his daughter a bedtime story.
"Is this the Pokemon you are looking for, Daddy?" the girl asked, pointing to a page in the picture book.
The Pokemon the little girl was pointing to in the picture book looked like strange characters that also had eyes.
"Yes, Daddy has been looking for it. It is the Symbolic Pokemon, Unown."
The girl turned to a page with a picture of Entei and said, "In this book, I like this one the best."
"This is a Legendary Pokemon, the mythical Entei. Ami likes it the best, huh?"
"Because Entei is not only very powerful but also very gentle, just like you, Daddy."
Hearing his daughter's words, the man dressed up as Entei to please her.
Just when the father and daughter were having a great time playing, the computer nearby suddenly showed that an email had been received.
"It must be for Daddy, and it's marked urgent!" Ami said, feeling a bit disappointed.
The man walked quickly to the computer and opened the email, only to find that the content was a video, and the sender was his student.
It turned out that his student had discovered clues about the Unown in some ruins and wanted to invite him over to study them together.
"Do you have to go to work again?"
Looking at his daughter's pitiful expression, the man picked up Ami with a complex look on his face and whispered, "I'm sorry, Ami. Daddy will try to come back as soon as possible."
After the man carried the girl back to bed and tucked her in, he left the house directly and drove toward the location where his student was.
Before long, he appeared in some ruins within a desert.
"It's right here, Professor Hale."
The man was taken to a room in the ruins filled with characters.
"I suspect the content of these characters is related to the Unown."
Upon hearing this, Professor Hale immediately took out a computer and scanned the characters on the stone wall. "Amazing."
"You are probably the only one, Professor, who can decipher these."
Just as Professor Hale was scanning intently, he discovered a special character fragment that had fallen on the ground. As he curiously examined where it had fallen from, a character wearing glasses floated behind him, observing his every move.
He then looked down and found a wooden box. After opening it, he discovered that it was filled with small, block-shaped stone pieces in the shapes of different characters.
Professor Hale curiously picked up a few stone pieces. After the stone pieces left the wooden box, they flashed with a trace of blue lightning, and then a ring of eerie characters suddenly appeared in front of Professor Hale.
"This is..."
Before he could finish his sentence, he was absorbed by these eerie characters into a strange space.
After entering the mysterious space, Professor Hale saw eerie characters with eyeballs everywhere and said in terror, "Unown?!"
Outside, as the sound of an object falling rang out, Professor Hale's student realized that his teacher had disappeared.
After searching around, he still couldn't find Professor Hale. Finally, in a somewhat foolish move, he gathered the stone pieces that were on the ground sealing the Unown, took them, and delivered them to Professor Hale's home.
Ami did not see her father return and realized that something was wrong.
That night, she compared the Unown data that Professor Hale had sent back and poured the stone pieces out of the box.
As she pieced a few stone fragments together, watered by a single tear, an interdimensional tunnel quietly opened in the ruins hundreds of miles away.
Immediately after, a large number of Unown flew out of the tunnel, eventually traveling through space and arriving in front of Ami.
"Unown?"
"Are you willing to play with me?"
As soon as Ami finished speaking, the Unown began to exert their power. With Ami and the Unown at the center, a mysterious force radiated outward, turning everything around them into blue crystal.
Ami picked up the book that had fallen to the ground, turned to the page with Entei, and thought of her father.
As if sensing this, the Unown condensed a ball of light in mid-air.
A special individual resembling Entei materialized out of thin air behind Ami.
"Were you the one who called me just now?" this Entei created by the Unown looked at Ami in confusion.
