(Alexander Ashford Pov)
Alexander watched in terror as the moment he got on the telephone , the thing outside the observation window now much taller lightly touched the glass.
He watched as the glass concrete and all the materials around it seemed to flow like liquid and then rapidly reconstruct itself into a Ebony black and red door.
Alexander Ashford stood in a stupor with the telephone on his ear, his terror completely forgotten replaced by a burning curiosity.
' How does that mean he can control matter if he can do that? What else can he do then?'
Alexander Ashford and remembers the readings he read from the incubation tube connecting the dots
'It seems like this creature that named itself Alex also has control of its genetics from what I remember from reading the data that his incubation tube was giving and how it seemed like his genetic code rapidly organized and optimized itself.'
And now that i've had time to really think about it , how has he been talking to me or even being able to tell what I'm doing? this section of the lab is completely sealed off, I shouldn't have been able to hear his voice at all the sound wouldn't have been able to pass through.
Alexander ashford snaps out of his train of thought as the door opens. He watches as "Alex" walks through and immediately takes in his form and its Perfection.
His hair was so dark it sucked the light out of the air but it was the eyes that really frightened Alexander and how those crimson eyes seemed to be breaking him down into variables that had already been dissected and how, in contrast, with his beautiful face and its wide grin it was.
After that , Alexander's hit with the striking the difference in their height was "Alex" towering over him and how massive he was but Alexander noticed that everything was perfectly proportional and every muscle visible seemed perfect with no deformations .
' It makes no sense.how can something so large move so fluidly with no pause at all between movement it's uncanny. Everything about this makes me feel a mix of awe and dread.'
Before Alexander Ashford could stop himself his curiosity got the better of him as he says.
"How did you do that?"
Alex looked at him with that same grin on his face saying while shrugging.
"A basic way to explain it is I used my electromagnetic field to rearrange the atoms of what it touched into what I wanted, which was a door."
Alex pointed at the door he made out of part of the observation window Alex then says.
" Watch and see for yourself "
Alex then takes what Alexander Ashford thinks is three steps standing directly in front of his desk worrying Alexander for a second as he looms over him and then he watches as Alex snaps his fingers.
Alexander Ashford sees the concrete under Alex deform and flow like water rapidly to form a black and gold metal throne he then looks around the throne noticing the concrete was deformed.
Alex then chuckles while sitting down saying.
"Now that you all saw that, let's start talking about your futures and the future of your company ."
This confused Alexander at first wondering who else Alex was talking to; he then remembered the telephone in his hand; he had been so caught up in what he was seeing right in front of him that it completely slipped his mind.
Alex's hand moves so fast Alexander Ashford barely notices that the telephone is missing from his hand before he can blink.
Alexander Ashford looks at the hand the telephone was in before looking at Alex who has it next to his ear in stunned silence as his brain processed what just happened.
'How i didnt even see him move at all and my arm should be gone right now because of how he just was else he has perfect control over his strength and speed…. No thats not possible, wait a second it is afterall i just watched him control matter I need to throw out all other ideas I have of what he can do.'
Alexander Ashford took a deep breath to calm his racing heart and thoughts then decided to listen to Alex talking.
"Oswald all projects involving lisa trevor are to be canceled, Project Wesker is to go under major reworks that will make sure every candidate survives the enhancements !fter that freeze all company activities as we currently have close to a hundred moles from various organizations , spying on all activities they have become part of, we will go through a list and get rid of them when we meet in person."
Alex then said
" Miranda should also be contacting you soon as well as we're all meeting up together to discuss things properly. After all, it involves your dream being fulfilled and whether or not you're allowed to be in that future."
Alexander Ashford was confused. He knew about Lisa Trevor almost everybody that had a high rank/clearance in Umbrella knew about her after all,she provided very valuable data. After all she was a success in certain ways when it came to merging with the progenitor virus in other ways less so.
Alexander Ashford remembers reports that she had gone insane and was cutting off people's faces after she found out that the mother they had set up for her was fake and was just another scientist that looked like her Although when you thought about it she was going through apparent rapid cognitive decline.
So Alexander had understood that her fate was sealed because of the way she merged with the progenitor virus but that's not what he was confused about After all , lisa trevor could be a valuable test subject what was "project wesker" was the main question on his mind right now wait no that's not the real question I should be asking, why is he talking to Spencer like he's nothing worth noting ?
Alexander Ashford's eyes widen in realization as he understands at least he thinks he does.
' He just doesn't perceive us as threats at all that's why he was so patient with me and my questions to him. I guess it was like he was entertaining a child but it does make sense.'
Alexander Ashford then meets Alex's eyes, seeing the amusement dancing in them like he could read his every thought and found them deeply amusing.
'Why would something like him feel threatened by a human like me after all any of the Containment protocols we made wouldn't work.
Alexander Ashford remembered the files on project chaos he read and where are those genes were sourced from he remembers the crude genetic modifications he was told to do he knows that even with all the flaws in those genetic modifications , the creature that would have came out would've been powerful but It would have glaring flaws in its genetic structure weaknesses that could be exploited.
Alexander Ashford then looks Alex down again, noting how his body surpasses all possible parameters in project chaos. He remembers watching his genetics shift in real time , becoming so beautiful and perfect with no gap or flaw in its structure.
' He has none of those flaws and from what I can tell when he modified himself , he kept all positive genetic traits while getting rid of all negative or defective traits.'
Meaning he has the powers of that crazy bitch ,her "siblings" and their mother alongside Most likely the powers of somebody who perfectly adapted to the progenitor virus
Which would make him increasingly more powerful on top of everything else he could think of like the existential dread that occurred when the project first started leading close to ten people to kill themselves. It has to do with whatever Alex is , that's the only conclusion he can reach.
Alexander Ashford trembles as he remembers the feeling of being nothing In comparison to something He couldn't identify at the time feeling like a speck of dust in the cosmos in comparison, like something was constantly staring back from everywhere and no matter where he looked he could find nothing but empty space.
And then there were the whispers Alexander Ashford remembers how they sunk into his mind he couldn't understand any of it , But hearing it made him feel wrong like something inside him broke down with every word spoken Alexander ashford shakes his head , forcing himself to return to the present.
' I need to focus on what is being said now, not what happened earlier but I think this is all getting to me.'
Alexander Ashford feels himself start to smile as the sheer hilarity of his situation hits him.
'I wanted to make a godlike being or at least a Superior human look what I got exactly what I wished for I wonder if every other umbrella scientist will feel this way understanding that if they're ideal is a success they will have also have to deal with the consequences of it as you can't control a being that is above you in every aspect.'
Alexander Ashford feels something that surprises him, relief flooding his body.
'If he wanted to kill me right now I would already be dead right now. I guess he has something for me to do or something else or I'm just not important enough but none of that matters.'
Alexander Ashford takes a deep breath to calm his heart beat steeling his nerves as he realizes that the telephone call was over.
Alexander Ashford then hears Alex ask him.
"Alexander Ashford what do you think about surpassing your ancestor Veronica Ashford making sure that your legacy continues by your own hand instead of relying on Project Code:Veronica and what it could produce."
Alexander's breath hitches as he processes what Alex said to him.
'I can stop the family's decline and surpass what Veronica accomplished with her genius. How I know i'm not capable enough to do so , wait a minute , Spencer's dream of a superhuman race the megamycete and progenitor virus can induce changes into D.N.A.'
'Alex most likely can fully control that process meaning he can make sure the other person's body does not reject the changes the biggest problem with either of the two from the files I read at least after all, Miranda and Spencer's couldn't have us work on something we didn't understand so Alex can make someone a super human most likely'
Before Alexander can stop himself he says.
"What do I need to do to make sure the Ashford line continues and prospers in the future."
Alex smiles at his reply and says.
"Simple you will help me mange Babel and in return I will genetically modify you making sure you live at least two hundred years alongside being physically stronger and smarter these modifications will also be fully inherited by your children making sure they will all be healthy strong and smart and who knows maybe if you impress me enough I'll make you immortal or you could achieve it by yourself."
'Thats a really good deal it will make sure i leave behind a great legacy for the Ashfords but what is "babel" everyone knows about the tower of babel but what is he talking about right now also immortality is something that can gained or achieved how.
Alexander Ashford listens and watches Alex in shock as he continues to talk while laughing
"Afterall im going to give every human a method of achieving immortality. Whether or not they achieve it depends on their own efforts."
Alex shrugs as he finishes what he was saying .
"Or who knows they'll make their own path to achieve it but it doesn't matter, it's just immortality afterall."
Alexander Ashford finally processes the absurdity of what Alex just said to him.
'Immortality is something that can apparently be achieved by everyone through the use of a method or something else and what do you mean it's just immortality like living forever is nothing important.'
'He said it like he was giving out a basic math formula to the world not at all a method to achieve immortality.'
'Do you know what fuck it I'm going to throw caution to the wind and just accept his deal it doesn't feel like anything wrong is going to happen and what else can I do wait on the sidelines , having no control at all as he's still achieves the same goals.'
'As from what I can tell all of this Is happening only because he wants it to so I might as well secure myself a better position while I can and this is the perfect chance.'
'But first let's get some more details.'
"What is this babel you're talking about and what would I have to manage."
Alex replies with.
"Babel is a project that is currently being done Right now, as we speak, it's a massive terraforming project that will completely reshape the earth and its ecosystem."
"Alongside genetic modifications that will be done to every human, making sure that they will all have immune systems that make them immune to almost every common illness or disease and that the ills of aging will not affect a person until they're around a hundred and thirty if they live that long while also being more adaptive , genetically stable physically stronger and smarter and unifying all human language."
"And now that I really think about it, managing isn't exactly the best way to put it, you're just going to be a participant as well. You just get more benefits out of it because you're not modifications are going to be a tad , bit different being stronger and all."
Alexander after hearing this says.
"Wait , what do you mean by Terraforming and massive genetic modifications?? How I just saw you get out of your tube, how have you had enough time to do that and with what."
Alexander Ashford notices Alex's smile got wider alongside the widening of Alexander's eyes when he realizes what he said to him.
Alexander ashford then takes a deep breath and says.
"Fuck it I accept after all , even if I didn't accept it will still happen right accept without me getting more benefits out of it.I don't care how your achieving it maybe one day you'll tell me but I just don't care at this point I'll just control what I can and worry about that."
' I'm done worrying about it for a while.Maybe in a week or two I will care more But I just can't muster up the energy now I haven't been in control of my life for the past five months and if I try to escape this facility , I would get killed if the project is not completed as they know I would run so...… not all that big of a change it's acceptable I can work with this.'
Alexander Ashford, then watches as Alex leans forward, just slightly and reaches his hand out then saying.
"Let's shake on it to symbolize the deal being completed."
Alexander Ashford stares at Alex's giant hand that could crush his skull in its massive grip and pushes through all his natural reactions of running away and hiding for his life to shake it.
As they shake hands Alexander feels a warmth spreading throughout his body and the urge to yawn as everything fades into black with the last he hears is Alex saying.
"You will wake up when the rest get here."
"I hope you like your new body and its strength."
