When I checked my elemental affinity, the result that came back was a shock: Void.
Void meant ether.
Put simply, it was the very fuel of Magical Energy drifting through the atmosphere.
As far as I knew, you needed Magic Circuits to make practical use of ether, and even then it was notoriously difficult.
Hardly anyone could use it properly.
People kept throwing around proper nouns like the Fifth Imaginary Element and the Fifth Element, and just hearing it was enough to make my head spin.
I had always treated it as one of those things you just accepted existed and moved on.
But now that ether was my attribute?
It left me more than a little dazed.
