"It's useless, Kaiba-boy!" Pegasus laughed.
"What?!"
"If I already saw through your set card," Pegasus said smoothly, "then of course I prepared a way to deal with it!"
Before Kaiba could process what he meant, Toon Dark Magician Girl's attack slammed straight into him anyway.

"How is that possible?!" Kaiba roared.
"Because as long as my Toon Kingdom is on the field," Pegasus explained, "my Toon monsters cannot be targeted by your effects."
"What?!"
"I set one card. End my turn." (Cards in hand: 2)
Kaiba grit his teeth. "Damn it… I lost half my Life Points in a single turn."
"My turn—draw!"
Right now… brute force. High ATK pressure, Kaiba thought.
"Kaiba-boy," Pegasus said at once, smiling, "you're thinking of crushing me with high-attack monsters, aren't you?"
Kaiba's eyes flickered with panic—then hardened into resolve.
"Even if you know what I'm doing," he snarled, "I believe you still won't be able to stop it!"
He held up a card.
"I reveal Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my hand—then Special Summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon!"

"Next, I Flip Summon my face-down monster—The White Stone of Ancients!"

"And I activate the effect of Sage with Eyes of Blue from my hand—send it to the Graveyard, target one Effect Monster on the field, and send it to the Graveyard. Then I Special Summon a 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my Deck!"

"Now I activate Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon's effect! In exchange for it not attacking this turn, I can destroy one monster you control—so I destroy Toon Dark Magician Girl!"
Alternative's mouth flared with white light and fired—
"Activate Toon Kingdom's effect!" Pegasus cut in. "I banish one card from my Deck face-down—and Toon Dark Magician Girl avoids being destroyed by an effect!"
Pegasus banished a card. Toon Dark Magician Girl's body twisted into a comical loop, and the beam shot cleanly through the hole.
"What?!"
"Then Blue-Eyes White Dragon attacks Toon Dark Magician Girl—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
"Again, Toon Kingdom's effect!" Pegasus said brightly. "I banish one card—Toon Dark Magician Girl is not destroyed by battle!"
"But you still take battle damage," Kaiba said coldly.

"I set one card. End my turn." (Cards in hand: 2)
"At my End Phase, I activate The White Stone of Ancients—I can Special Summon a 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my Deck."
"Come forth—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

Pegasus clapped lightly. "Kaiba-boy, I'll flip one of my set cards as well."
"I activate the Trap Card Toon Mask!"
A ridiculous, grinning mask appeared on Pegasus's field.
"Toon Mask…?"
"As long as Toon World is on my field," Pegasus explained—"this card targets one face-up monster you control. Then I Special Summon a Toon monster from my hand or Deck whose Level is equal to or lower than the target's Level—ignoring its summoning conditions."
"Naturally, I target Blue-Eyes White Dragon. That means I can summon any Toon monster of Level 8 or lower, for free."
"Come forth—Toon Destruction Swordsman!"
The mask warped and stretched, transforming into a tiny warrior wielding a sword far too big for its body.

"And Toon Destruction Swordsman gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster you have on your field and in your Graveyard!"
"What?!"
"Kaiba-boy," Pegasus sang, "you have four Dragons between field and Graveyard—so it gains 2000 ATK!"

"Battle! Toon Destruction Swordsman attacks you directly!"
The tiny swordsman hoisted its oversized blade and brought it crashing down at Kaiba—
"Then I activate the Continuous Trap Light Barrier Spirit Swords! I pay 1000 Life Points to negate this attack!"
Kaiba LP 2000 → 1000
A row of glowing swords materialized around Kaiba, blocking the strike.
"Oh, no~" Pegasus pouted theatrically. "I thought the duel was over."
"I set one card. End my turn." (Cards in hand: 2)
"My turn—draw!"
Kaiba reached for his card… but staring at the monster on Pegasus's field, a wave of fear rose unbidden in his chest.
Then—
"Kaiba… you can do it."
A voice echoed in his heart.
Kisaragi's voice.
Kaiba drew.
"Mind Scan."
Pegasus's left eye flared. He tried to peer into Kaiba's thoughts and see the card—
—but in Kaiba's mind, Kisaragi's silhouette appeared, standing perfectly in the way, blocking his view.
"What?!" Pegasus blurted. "Why is Miss Kisaragi suddenly inside your mind—and why is she blocking the card I'm trying to see?!"
Kaiba understood instantly.
Because of her… Pegasus could no longer read his hand.
"Thank you… Kisaragi," Kaiba murmured.
Then he looked down at the card he'd drawn—
His pupils tightened.
And then he threw his head back and laughed.
"Hahahaha! Pegasus—this duel is over!"
"I activate Polymerization from my hand! I fuse Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon with my two Blue-Eyes White Dragons!"
"Fusion Summon—Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!"
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (4500/3800)
"Kaiba-boy," Pegasus scoffed, "even if you summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, you still can't defeat my Toon Destruction Swordsman!"
"And since you summoned another Dragon, it gains 500 ATK!"
Toon Destruction Swordsman (5100/2300)
Kaiba's grin didn't waver.
"Heh. So what? I knew its attack would rise—and I've already found the countermeasure."
