Amelia pulled the car to the side of the road and turned to look at Adelyn, as if trying to make sure she was being serious.
"Are you saying that he was a fool?" she asked.
Adelyn hesitated for a second.
But then she nodded and turned back to look at the road.
Cars were passing by them, some rushing past while others moved at their own pace. Seeing them, she quickly said, "Ah … you stopped the car in the middle of nowhere. Start the engine soon, or you might receive a traffic fine."
Amelia snapped out of her confusion and started the engine again. She was genuinely surprised and couldn't help but stop to question Adelyn about it.
As the car began moving again, Amelia remained lost in thought, replaying the earlier scene in her mind. Her brows stayed furrowed for a good while before she finally shook her head and muttered,
"He didn't look like a fool, though. He seemed to carry something unique about him."
Adelyn heard that, and her lips curled into an awkward smile.
