In the heart of the planet of Anda, under the canopy of teary clouds and unstable weather, rubbles of a once prosperous city stretched through thousands of kilometers, the subtle sound of the ocean played constantly in a land nowhere near it. Even in this soon to become wasteland, two men roamed around, their eyes had a mission.
Dressed in tight-fitted clothing, they walked atop the rubbles, still, searching for something. Both figures differed by wild margins, Dlen, a tall slender guy and Lohik, a guy whose broad muscles pretty much defined his astonishing height of 180cm and also, he had a bald head.
"You know, I'm getting bad feelings about this place." Dlen said, dragging Lohik to a stop.
"Huh? You are the only one here that can speed up this mission. Stop thinking like a pussy and focus on your job!" Lohik yelled at the end.
"Okay…" Dlen murmured to himself.
After the slight setback, they continued their effortless exhibition. Stones were moved, changes were noticed, the eerie silence haunted their hearts, yet something made them not turn back. On Dlen's left eye, rested a one-eyeglass which had a very particular special feature; it could sense energy.
"Do you sense anything now?" Lohik asked. They had been walking for several distance yet found nothing.
"No." replied Dlen.
Hearing the response, Lohik clicked his tongue in frustration. His eyes wandered to the skies for a slight moment, before returning back to reality. 'Is the kid still alive? No. We would have sensed his energy.'
After hours of search, they grew tired and decided to take a little break. Using his heavy muscles, Lohik cleared the rubbles, one by one, then, in seconds, a smooth surface was created. There, they took camp and spoke among themselves what to do next in completing this mission.
Several hours ago, Dlen and Lohik were given a mission to bring the body of a boy, with a promise of a huge sum as a payment. "The man said the boy was here but, we haven't seen anything up till now."
Dlen voiced his concerns, and Lohik listened.
"Haarrghh…I wish we had another way to find him, rather than relying on that thing I'm not even sure it works." Lohik groaned, visibly disturbed by their inability to look for a single child.
Just when there seems to be no hope, like a bolt of lightning, a brilliant idea struck Dlen's fast paced mind. "Yea I wish…Wait, we can!"
"Huh?"
"Hand me an erage. I have a plan, hurry." Dlen said hastily.
Lohik, despite his heavy and rough nature, was someone who would never do anything unless it had a reason. Even his bulkiness, hides a hidden secret only him knows. "And If I say no? Besides, are you sure I even have one with me?"
"Yes you do. You literally brag every day that you're always prepared for the worst situation possible." Dlen bluntly replied. Indeed, Lohik does brag each time about how he has a backup plan for anything. "In fact, I can even show you where it is."
"Huh? Stay away from me!"
Swiftly, Dlen crept over to Lohik. "I'll show you." Dlen's hands found its way to Lohik's huge trouser, he checked the right pocket, "Stop…" then moved on to the left, "Stopppp…." Then, as he found nothing, he decided to do for the middle.
~DUM~said Lohik's fist, as it punched the face of Dlen. "That part is for my wife, dummy!"
After being thrown a meter away, Dlen's gaze and mind appeared to still have a goal. "Shut up, I'm sure it's in there." He pointed at somewhere that made Lohik's face red.
In order to not let this continue any further, Lohik surrendered. "Fine I'll give you." He reached for a spot under his waist, put his hand in there and brought out a tiny ball the size of a pearl. "Take."
Then, he threw it towards Dlen.
"Is this hair?" commented Dlen, first thing on receiving the ball.
"No. Do whatever you want to do fast. Time waits for no one." Lohik assured.
'Ok…' thought Dlen, before falling into silence and concentration. As he did, the world too, fell silent, patiently waiting for what he's about to perform. Dlen huffed silently. ~Crack~
The ball shattered.
Speckles of blue dust sprinkled down like the morning due, then stopping at Dlen's feet. With a flick of his finger, it moved. It circulated Dlen's hand, rotating continually until it formed a tiny circle that blazed with a darker shade of blue. Dlen's lips curled upwards, he wanted this.
His fingers moved again, and with time, the circle bore lines, lines to patterns and patterns to an intricately drawn code. "Done," muttered Dlen. He looked like he was done but his face held synonymity.
"Good. Now find the boy."
"I can't, it isn't enough."
"You said you could," Lohik tried to understand what the guy meant.
"I did, but this isn't enough. I will have to use my personal, please wait."
'Personal?'
While Lohik was in thoughts, Dlen reached for his pocket and from it, he brought out a tiny bottle that contained a neutral liquid devoid of color. He opened the cap, poured the liquid towards the ground and same as before, the liquid followed the same process, synchronizing with the circle, and darkening the circle once more.
"Whoa." Lohik gasped. His amazement couldn't hide as he peered on the piece of art that floated above Dlen's palm. 'This is beautiful. For this, I will forget that he borrowed mine while he had one.'
"Your eyes are too focused." Dlen said, reminding Lohik of reality.
"Ok, sorry. Do your thing." Lohik cleared some distance; he decided to watch Dlen from the sidelines. Dlen is a transfer user, someone who uses implements rather than his own energy.
Dlen sank into focus, setting his emotions and feelings aside. Lohik looked astonished; that someone like Dlen could actually keep quiet for seconds on end. The patterned circle flew 100ft above them, then dispersed and widened. It stretched, stretched and stretched until it hit a 1000km mark.
"I found him. He's there." Dlen said, his finger pointed 10'oclock from them. After hours of searching, they finally found a lead. The circle's color brightened, changing from a darker shade to a more-brighter and purer shade of blue.
"Hah Finally…"
They wasted no time in packing up; for they finally have a certain goal, direction and destination in mind.
A few hundred kilometers away, covered by hundreds of washed-up blocks, in a place where no light reached, laid the body of a young child with hair like the ocean. The boy's mouth moved, whispering something to the world.
"….."
