Lucrezia was already standing before Gavin's form on the bed when she looked to the tall intimidating figure leaning against the wall.
"He's fine. I've cleaned the wounds. Hopefully, he gets better quickly." She told Maverick who was staring at Gavin the whole time.
Slowly, his eyes darted to meet Lucrezia's and he saw how she immediately averted her gaze, watching Gavin as well.
The two maids from earlier stood behind her like statues, silent and unmoving, waiting for her next instruction.
"You can take the tray away," Lucrezia said, her gaze falling briefly on the equipment she had just used to tend to Gavin's wounds.
The first maid stepped forward immediately, gathering the tray with careful hands before slipping out of the room without a word and the silence that followed was heavy.
The second maid remained where she was, her presence lingering as she watched Lucrezia expectantly.
