Lucrezia thought she had misheard the moment he said that, as she instinctively moved closer to get a better hearing.
But Maverick wasn't joking. He stared at her from the doorside, hiding the smirk that almost formed on his lips when she came closer.
"What?" Her voice was barely a whisper when she said that.
Stepping forward, he repeated himself, "You're dressed in my clothes, Lucrezia. I want them back."
Lucrezia looked down at the shirt and joggers she was wearing. She couldn't deny that they were so comfy compared to her normal dresses but that didn't mean she wasn't aware of the game Maverick was trying to play here.
She closed her eyes before taking a deep breath, "I'll return them to you when I get back to my room,"
Her explanation was clear. Return to her room and change into one of her clothes– then bring back his clothes to him.
"No," Maverick replied. "I want you to take it off right here and right now," his voice was firm, as if he wasn't backing down on this.
