After seeing the way they had been dragged into this place and treated since arriving, the words of the man standing in the corner would not leave his head.

At first, Kevin had thought the bastard was only trying to scare them, some sick joke meant to break their nerves before eventually letting them go. But nothing about the place felt like a joke anymore. Not after the dead bodies they had been forced to travel beside, or the clothes they wore still stained with the blood that did not belong to them. And certainly not after seeing the dark pools already covering parts of the floor when they were brought inside the room, only for someone to come in later, clean everything away without a word, and prepare the room as though making space for the next pool of blood.
