Cassian rematerialised inside the Casanova building after leaving Olga to have some time with Cixi. He knew how Olga felt about her daughter getting tangled with the Crown's man. But it was too late for Olga to stop anything. Cixi was his. And Olga must accept it.
He walked down the private residential corridor. His footsteps made no sound against the carpet. Once he stopped at the door where you wanted to be, he knocked.
The door swung open, revealing Sashkia in a loose silk robe. She rested one hand over her soft, rounded belly and greeted him with an unamused scowl.
He had been burning to know what she saw the moment her hand touched Cixi in the parking lot. And seeing a powerful witch turn pale as a corpse and yank her hand back in terror had gnawed at his patience all evening.
