ROMAN's POV
My jaw ticked.
My hands clenched into tight, heavy fists at my sides, my knuckles popping like gunfire.
The silver-laced scratches on my back throbbed violently, but I didn't give him the satisfaction of seeing me flinch.
"Are you threatening me in my own home?" I asked quietly.
"I don't know, Alpha Roman" Gideon sneered, stepping around the edge of the desk until he was standing merely inches away from me, his breath hot and foul against my cheek. "Am I?"
Silence stretched upon the study like a heavy woolen blanket.
Neither of us moved.
Neither of us blinked.
The pure, suffocating pressure of two Alpha wolves locking horns in a closed room vibrated through the floorboards, making the glass windows rattle in their frames.
Finally, Gideon broke the silence, his eyes narrowing as he took a step back. "The girl. Where is she?"
