Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Hidden Chamber

Tae Jun was amazed by the leader's strength. He felt a little relieved to see Min Gyu's powers.

"Let's go deeper," Min Gyu loudly screamed at his members.

It felt like there weren't any B-Rankers, especially Min Gyu.

He felt like he was far superior in power compared to those two.

"Are you a kid?" Yoon nicely asked.

"Yes, I am. Thanks to you guys."

Min Gyu wrapped his hand around my shoulder.

"You are always welcome, boy."

And then his smile turned serious.

"Moving ahead. There will be more danger."

Tae Jun stared at him.

"And remember this: whenever you face death, just tell death, 'Not today.'"

Min Gyu laughed.

"Let's move deeper."

They kept going, especially Min Gyu.

Then, more goblins appeared. And then Direwolves.

A huge black-furred beast with glowing yellow eyes and jaws big enough to tear a person in half.

One leaped to attack Tae Jun.

But then Yoon's dragger spun through the air and buried itself in the wolf's eye.

The beast dropped inches away from him.

"Be careful," she said as she walked past him to pull the dragger.

Tae Jun nodded.

"Right..."

They went deeper. The deeper they went, the stranger the dungeon became.

The monster density was also increasing.

After nearly two hours inside the gates, they reached the end.

Tae Jun almost dropped the equipment on his back in front of the massive stone gate.

That gate wasn't part of the dungeon.

The door was huge, at least fifteen feet high, made from dark stone carved with ancient symbols that pulsed faintly with silver mana.

The door looked older, and the moment Tae Jun looked, his heart tightened.

Dae Sik frowned.

"This wasn't on the map."

"Hidden chamber?" Yoon narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

Min Gyu stepped forward, staring at the door. He smiled. Tae Jun immediately sensed what was going through his head.

"We should report this," Yoon muttered.

"Yeah, this is above a normal B-Rank."

"If this is the hidden boss chamber, the reward could be enormous," Min Gyu said.

"Or it could kill us," Dae Sik folded his arms.

Min Gyu turned toward Yoon with very cold eyes.

"Then, we vote."

Voting started.

Yoon and Dae Sik both didn't want to go inside.

Then, Min Gyu looked at Tae Jun.

"Boy, you are the weakest of all. You get to decide whether we go inside or not."

Tae Jun blinked in disbelief, "Me?"

Tae Jun looked at the gate, and a craving felt so wrong.

Every nerve in his body sensed death, but he knew if he didn't make a choice...

How would he pay the rent? How would he pay for groceries, electricity, food? And how would he pay for the education of his sister?

Everything felt like wrong pieces. When he opened his mouth, the words that came out were not what he intended to say, but fate played its part.

"Enter the room."

Then, Min Gyu smiled.

"Good."

He placed his hand on the center of the giant stone gate.

And pushed slowly and slowly...

The gate began to open.
