I stepped out into the cold air, my cloak tightening around me. Walking slowly in the shadow making sure I don't get caught.
The night outside the palace felt different… heavier.
Quiet.
The moment my boots touched the outside, that strange pull inside me shifted again—stronger now, like it had been waiting for me to come.
I hesitated.
"Just a look…" I whispered to myself. "That's all."
But even as I said it, I already knew I couldn't give and just ran back to my room.
I moved forward carefully, sticking to the darker paths that led away from the main gate and toward the back wall of Brasshall.
The mountains loomed ahead, tall and silent under the moonlight. I walked longer than I could think the pull getting stronger with each step.
And then… I saw it.
A shadow between the rocks.
Huge.
Still.
My steps slowed. My breath caught in my throat.
"What is that …" I whispered.
The air around me shifted.
The same pressure. The same heat from yesterday.
