Chapter 76 - The Morning Of

Salvatore's POV

The estate had been transformed overnight.

I don't know why this surprised me, I had approved the vendor access list myself, had signed off on the setup crew's arrival windows and reviewed the floral installation schedule and confirmed with Alessandro's coordinator that the five hundred chairs would be placed and the ceremony arch assembled before six AM.

I knew, in the logistical sense, exactly what was coming.

But there is a difference between knowing a thing on paper and walking out into it at dawn.

The gardens were white.

That was the only word for it , an impossible, deliberate white, flowers I couldn't have named covering every surface the eye landed on, the ceremony arch draped in something that caught the early light and held it.

The chairs were arranged in precise rows that turned the south lawn into something that looked less like a security event and more like a photograph of what happiness was supposed to look like.
