Chapter 115 - Chapter 110: Attrition

Without waiting for Furan's command, Lyle and the others had already taken the lead in charging out.

Angmar neither dodged nor avoided them, letting the group of 'Half-Dragon People' rush up. Lyle bared his claws and smashed them fiercely toward the opponent's face.

However, before the attack could land, Angmar simply opened his mouth slightly, drew in a breath, and began to roar.

"Boom—"

The roar shook the temple, and dust and rubble fell rustling down.

That inhuman sound wave carried an Impact, causing the charging 'Half-Dragon People' to lose control of their bodies and stumble to the ground one after another.

Even Weilin Te in the distance only barely steadied herself to keep from falling.

Meanwhile, layers of scales suddenly appeared on Furan's hands, cracking and shattering within the sound waves, falling to the ground as fine ash.

Her body was unaffected; then, with a clench of her left hand, a [Brittle Armor Spell] shot out, hitting Angmar while he was still releasing the sound waves.

Angmar frowned; he noticed that the scales on Furan's hands helped her resist the damage from the sound waves and knew he couldn't continue using this move.

Although he felt a bit strange after being hit by the Spell, he firmly believed his strength surpassed the opponent's.

He stepped forward, dashing in front of Furan, and threw a punch that came with a powerful surge of air.

Furan jumped up where she stood, blocking the incoming punch with her arms; the immense force sent her flying back a distance through the air.

At the same time, she raised her other wrist and released a cloud of purple mist at Angmar.

From the opponent's aura before the battle, Furan knew he was definitely a Rank One Professional, so she did not launch a reckless attack.

Instead, she chose to apply negative status effects first, weakening him as much as possible.

Angmar frowned; it felt as if his strike had hit cotton, with the damage being negated by the distance the opponent covered in the air.

And while that cloud of poison mist wouldn't affect him in the short term, things would inevitably change over a long period.

"Do you only know how to hide?" He snorted coldly, moving to close the distance between them and give her no openings.

However, just as he tried to take a step, he felt his feet being restrained by something and looked down.

"Don't even think about leaving!"

Drawing courage from who knows where, Lyle stepped forward and tightly hugged one of Angmar's thighs.

Angmar didn't indulge him, smashing a punch into Lyle's back with such force that rubble from the floor went flying.

"Argh!" Lyle groaned in pain, but he surprisingly didn't let go, enduring the attack to keep restraining Angmar.

"Hiss—" This time the scream came from Angmar; a Ray of Destruction shot directly at his arm, leaving a large gash on it.

Angmar gritted his teeth and kicked Lyle's head hard with his other foot, snapping half the scales on his skin.

But Lyle's strength didn't weaken in the slightest; in a place where no one could see, a golden light was emanating from his chest.

Seeing this, Angmar knew he couldn't get bogged down with Lyle; he knew how powerful the defensive strength was after drinking the divine water.

If it were Luka, it would take him some time to kill the opponent, let alone Lyle, who possessed draconic features.

He glanced back: several 'Half-Dragon People' were running toward him, wanting to hinder his steps like Lyle, while others were still picking up weapons from the ground, intending to give him a heavy blow.

This couldn't go on! Angmar clearly realized that if it were just these people, it would be fine, but the problem was... a large fireball exploded beside Angmar, the scorching flames burning on his arm, reminding him that he had to watch out for Furan, who was secretly casting Spells.

Hardening his heart, he completely ignored Lyle, who was still clinging to him, and dragged him along as he walked forward.

Carrying the weight of another person slowed him down considerably, but his strength didn't diminish at all.

He punched the moment he got close, aiming straight for Furan's face; if this punch landed, then... However, Furan simply sidestepped, just barely dodging the blow.

Then she held her breath and focused, directly activating Sword Dance; a subtle aura radiated from Furan's body.

Making a prompt decision, her purple dagger left an afterimage as it slashed fiercely across Angmar's punching arm.

A bloody gash immediately appeared on Angmar's arm, with droplets of blood flowing out.

He ignored it, sweeping his arm through the air with a 'whoosh,' aiming directly for Furan's face.

However, this strike missed; not only this one, but his next three attempts were also narrowly dodged by Furan. The closest one hit the scales on Furan's hand but caused no damage.

Angmar knew it was Lyle, who was clinging to his leg, that was slowing him down and preventing him from making wide-range instantaneous attacks. He had to deal with this kid first; otherwise, Furan alone could bleed him to death.

He lightly covered his arm, which was marked with several gruesome bloody gashes, and took a small step back.

Furan also noticed his movement and stood still, waiting for his next attack before dodging.

"Let me show you the miracle my god has bestowed upon me."

Angmar roared, a red light erupting from his throat as if something were about to burst; he aimed his face at Furan, about to launch an attack.

However, it was a feint; he suddenly lowered his head toward Lyle, who was still hugging his leg, and a beam of light erupted from his mouth, instantly igniting red flames on the floor.

He felt his step loosen and knew Lyle couldn't withstand the power of this strike; he looked down.

He saw a humanoid figure burning; his skin was bright red, and he seemed lifeless, though a faint golden light could be seen flashing on his chest.

"Lyle!"

Seeing this, the 'Half-Dragon People' were filled with rage; one person just half a step away raised a mace high and slammed it into his body.

He didn't dodge, letting the attack strike his body; having already been affected by the [Brittle Armor Spell], this blow caused him significant damage.

But he could only endure it, because that move just now was the [Dragon Breath] bestowed by his god. He had originally planned to use it on Furan after restraining her, which would have surely killed her.

But he also understood that he might not get that chance, so he decisively used [Dragon Breath] on Lyle to deal with this reckless fool.

This attack cost him a great deal of stamina, forcing him to pause and recover before attacking again.

However, after Lyle's example, there shouldn't be anyone else reckless enough to hinder his steps. As long as he could kill Furan first, these 'Half-Dragon People' would be nothing more than a disorganized rabble..
