Chapter 248 - Chapter 248: Kicking Someone Out? You Have No Authority

By the time Amanda had changed and pulled back the bed curtains to step out, she had three notebooks in her hand. She handed them to Hermione, speaking calmly as Hermione looked at her in confusion.

"These are the possible exam topics and knowledge points for this year's O.W.L.s, which I assessed and summarized based on the content of previous exams and the examiners' intentions."

"One copy each for you, Harry, and Ron. You can use these to review."

Hermione opened the notebook in her hand; it was filled to the brim with knowledge points written by Amanda.

"Wow," Hermione marveled. She felt the same sense of reassurance she'd had back then with Penelope. With these points summarized by Amanda, there was certainly no need to worry about the O.W.L.s Exam anymore. "Thank you, Amanda!"

As she spoke, she threw her arms around Amanda's neck and gave her a forceful kiss.

"Mmph..." Amanda was kissed by Hermione and wasn't released until ten or so seconds later. Her face was slightly flushed as she caught her breath. "It's fine, Hermione, you don't have to be so formal."

Cho Chang and Marietta Eckmore stood by, watching this scene and feeling a bit overwhelmed. The two girls looked at each other and simply began to embrace and kiss as well.

By the time everyone finished their displays of affection and reached the Great Hall, the dinner had already been underway for a while. Hermione said goodbye to Amanda and headed straight for the Gryffindor Table, unceremoniously sitting down next to Harry.

Harry and Ron both looked up at Hermione at the same time, seemingly surprised that she had come to the Gryffindor Table.

Although Hermione was still an out-and-out Little Lion, it was now almost universally accepted that she ate and lived over with Ravenclaw House.

"Good evening, Harry, Ron. Amanda asked me to give these to you."

As Hermione spoke, she gave each of the two boys one of the other two notebooks in her hand.

"What's this?" Ron asked curiously as he took the notebook. He opened it to take a look, and the moment he saw the contents, his expression instantly turned bitter.

Merlin... why did looking at these knowledge points make him so dizzy?

"These are the knowledge points that Amanda summarized for me and the two of you that are highly likely to be on the O.W.L.s Exam. She put a lot of effort into this."

"You two need to review properly."

"Hermione, the O.W.L.s Exam is still a month and a half away," Harry pointed out cautiously, while observing Hermione's expression even more carefully.

When he saw Hermione raise an eyebrow, Harry knew things were about to go south.

Sure enough, Hermione's persuasion arrived without fail. "How can you think that? You should be thinking that we only have a month and a half left!"

"This is the O.W.L.s Exam, not a regular end-of-term exam. This is the exam that will determine our future careers!"

Harry and Ron looked at each other across the table and decisively chose to be obedient. After all, Amanda had even given them the study points, and they were very detailed.

It would really be inexcusable if they didn't study hard.

"We'll start reviewing today!" they said in unison.

Hearing the two boys' promise, Hermione nodded with satisfaction and only then began to enjoy her dinner with a smile.

However, just as the O.W.L.s Exams were approaching, Umbridge still hadn't forgotten her mission to make life difficult for the students and staff of Hogwarts.

In reality, no one had cared about those Educational Decrees she hung outside the Great Hall for a long time.

Therefore, when the Little Eagles of Ravenclaw and the Little Badgers of Hufflepuff saw her in Charms Class, everyone was a bit slow to react.

What was the situation? If it weren't for the fact that Professor Flitwick was standing right at the front and looking quite well, they would have suspected something had happened to him and that Umbridge was taking over the class.

A Ravenclaw Little Eagle, who happened to have nothing better to do this morning and glanced at that wall, lowered his voice to explain the situation to the Young Wizards nearby.

Sitting not far away, Amanda also quietly focused some of her attention there, prepared to hear what kind of trouble Umbridge was stirring up now.

"Umbridge has now been authorized by the Ministry of Magic to inspect the teaching of various subjects at Hogwarts, so that's probably why she's appearing in Charms Class."

"Umbridge is inspecting the teaching of various subjects at Hogwarts?!" This came from a Little Eagle whose jaw nearly hit the floor in surprise.

"With her character, she's doing inspections? Most of the Hogwarts Professors probably taught her; she's not worthy of inspecting them!" This came from a Little Badger who had regained his senses and was uncharacteristically irritable.

An inspection of educational quality? Looking back at where Umbridge stood, Amanda saw that the Professors hadn't raised any objections to it. Naturally, Amanda couldn't either, and it would be inappropriate to simply throw Umbridge out of the classroom.

Because doing so might even bring trouble to the Professor.

However, she hoped Umbridge would show some restraint in class, or at least not interfere with normal teaching activities.

Otherwise... Amanda felt she would have no choice but to maintain classroom order herself. That is to say, the moment Umbridge interfered with normal teaching, she would throw her directly out of the classroom.

That way, reason would be on her side.

The rest of the class did not disappoint Amanda's suspicions. Although this was only the first class of the first subject of Umbridge's "inspections," she was clearly eager to show off and wanted all the Young Wizards' eyes on her.

While Professor Flitwick was teaching earnestly, Umbridge stood at the back of the classroom and coughed every now and then, both interrupting Professor Flitwick's explanations and interfering with the Young Wizards' ability to think.

After Umbridge had "coincidentally" interrupted Professor Flitwick three times in a row with her coughing, Amanda finally reached the limit of her patience.

She turned around abruptly, her deep black eyes staring intently at Umbridge, who was sitting at the very back of the classroom.

Faced with such eyes, Umbridge felt an unprovoked tightening in her chest.

For some reason, the level of danger and the sense of crisis Umbridge felt from the current Amanda was even heavier than it had been at the beginning of this school year.

Although she didn't know why, she could feel her heart as if it were being gripped by a large hand, giving her the sensation that she could lose her life at any moment.

"A Professor's lecture should not be interrupted. Professor Umbridge, you are severely affecting the order of the classroom and everyone's focus."

"So please, get out of the classroom."

As soon as Amanda finished speaking, Umbridge suddenly rose into the air under her gaze and quickly flew out of the Charms classroom.

"Heh heh heh," Professor Flitwick couldn't help but smile and clap at what Amanda had done. "A brilliant Levitation Charm, Miss Amanda. Fifteen points to Ravenclaw."

Merlin knows how annoyed he had just been by Umbridge's constant coughing and interruptions.

Yet, it wasn't very convenient for him to do anything to Umbridge. One reason was that he and Umbridge were colleagues, and the other was that an old Professor like him scolding Umbridge or kicking her out of the classroom could easily be slandered as bullying.

The Ministry of Magic could slander Hogwarts even when nothing was happening. If he were to directly reprimand Umbridge or kick her out, Merlin knows what the Ministry would say.

So, relatively speaking, it was most appropriate for Amanda to do it. She was a student; no matter what she did to Umbridge, it couldn't be called picking on someone smaller.

Similarly, because she was a student, her actions could be explained away as youthful impulsiveness.

"Thank you, Professor Flitwick."

Amanda thanked him expressionlessly. Then, with a slight flick of her control over the Levitation Charm, the classroom door was quickly shut, locking Umbridge directly outside.

Amanda even cast a Safe Garrison over the classroom, directly blocking Umbridge's person, her voice, and anything else that might interfere with their class.

Over the following period, almost every Professor's class was "harassed" by Umbridge, and even Professor Snape's class was no exception.

Regarding this, Ron's take was, "She's really got more guts than a Gryffindor. Professor Snape should just use her as a Potion ingredient and brew her into a cauldron of Potion."

Professor Snape, who happened to be passing behind him at the time, turned to give him a cold look and left without saying a word.

Umbridge's supervision of teaching was finally brought to an end while Amanda was on her way back to her Dormitory after finishing Ancient Runes.

Just as she walked onto the open ground in front of the Hogwarts Castle entrance, Amanda saw Professor Trelawney and her suitcases. Umbridge was standing in front of her, speaking in a haughty and overbearing manner.

Many students were gathered around, most of them looking at Umbridge with faces full of anger, while some had already turned to go find other Professors.

Turning to walk into the center of the crowd, Amanda's expression was solemn and indifferent. As soon as she reached the edge of the crowd, she heard Umbridge's shrill, unpleasant voice.

"Professor Trelawney, the Ministry of Magic's evaluation of your teaching is a failing grade. So, unfortunately, you must leave Hogwarts!"

"Your teaching career at Hogwarts is over."

"Oh, Merlin, oh no..." Professor Trelawney sat on her suitcase, crying uncontrollably. "I've been here for over ten years, I've been here for over ten years. Hogwarts is my home. I can't leave here, I can't..."

"It used to be your home, but it isn't anymore," Umbridge's delighted voice rang out. She looked at the sobbing Professor Trelawney with cheerful satisfaction. "Of course you have to leave Hogwarts; you're fired!"

Umbridge's voice suddenly rose, and Professor Trelawney's crying grew even louder in response.

Frowning deeply, Amanda stepped through the crowd toward the center. When the spectating Young Wizards saw it was Amanda, they immediately stepped aside to make a path for her.

At the same time, their gazes toward Umbridge took on a hint of schadenfreude. Amanda was here; Umbridge was finally going to be in trouble.

"Pardon me, Professor Umbridge. I've previously looked into your authority as the Hogwarts High Inquisitor. You have the power to dismiss Hogwarts Professors, but you have no authority to kick anyone out."

"Who this Castle welcomes and who it doesn't is not for you, nor the Ministry of Magic, to decide."

Walking up to Professor Trelawney and looking Umbridge straight in the eye, Amanda glanced back. Immediately, a Little Badger and a Little Lion stepped forward; one supported Professor Trelawney while the other took her suitcase and headed toward the Hogwarts Castle doors.

"Miss Amanda, sometimes sticking your nose where it doesn't belong is not a good thing."

Umbridge took a deep breath, trying hard to control herself so as not to let her temper flare. She even did her best to maintain the smile on her face.

She couldn't lose her temper with Amanda. This damn girl was too terrifying; if she lost her temper, it would be equivalent to giving her a reason to take action.

If she were to take action, Umbridge feared she would be the one carried out of Hogwarts.

"I could say the same to you, Professor Umbridge."

"Dolores!" Two voices tinged with anger arrived. Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick walked quickly from Hogwarts Castle, directly shielding Amanda behind them.

"You cannot kick out any Professor from Hogwarts."

Professor McGonagall looked at Umbridge warningly. This majestic Lion King already showed signs of reaching for her wand.

"No one else can kick out anyone from Hogwarts," Professor Flitwick added in agreement from beside her.

"Yes, except for me, the current Principal of Hogwarts, and the four Founders."

Another old but steady and powerful voice came over. The Young Wizards automatically made a path as Headmaster Dumbledore walked forward slowly. He nodded to the two Professors and winked at Amanda.

"I believe you've decided to dismiss Sybill, and I am willing for her to continue living at Hogwarts."

"Letting a dismissed, useless Professor waste resources at Hogwarts? Dumbledore, how can you..."

"Professor Umbridge," Amanda's voice rang out as she stepped out from behind Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick so Umbridge could see her clearly. "I believe the Ministry of Magic hasn't contributed a single Bronze Knut toward Hogwarts' funding or the resources required to run the school."

"Now that you mention this matter, your credibility is infinitely close to zero."

Umbridge felt like she was choking on her words. Her gaze searched the surroundings anxiously and finally showed a look of relief after finding the Little Snakes of Slytherin.

However, while she was relieved, the Little Snakes' hearts jumped into their throats.

What did this Umbridge want to do now? She couldn't be thinking of dragging them down with her, could she?!

If she wanted to seek death, fine, but don't bring them and their families into it! They still wanted to live for another few decades!

"The Ministry of Magic indeed hasn't approved funding for Hogwarts, but the school's operation relies not only on its own wealth but also on the investment and support of various Pure-blood families."

"Dumbledore, using this money to support an unqualified Professor like Trelawney is wasting the investment and support of the Pure-blood families."

"The Pure-blood families won't be willing."

After Umbridge said this, she tilted her head up slightly and stood proudly on the spot, seemingly waiting for the surrounding Little Snakes to echo her.

Unfortunately, she did not get the cheers she imagined. The Little Snakes present, especially those whose families were members of the Hogwarts Board of Governors, all had ashen faces and glared at Umbridge with murderous intent.
