"Levi! This place isn't safe, let's go!" Lynn made a split-second decision and shouted in a low voice.
Sizzle—Crackle!
Hearing the command, Levi immediately beat his wings emitting gold-red light.
The gold-red light was just about to envelop Lynn when it began to flicker violently like radio waves under heavy interference, emitting a piercing noise.
The spatial tunnel, which should have opened smoothly, was now a chaotic mess, like a ball of yarn tangled by countless invisible hands.
"Master, I can't!" Levi's voice was uncharacteristically urgent. "The spatial structure of this secret realm has been violently disturbed by some kind of magic! Forcing a transfer is extremely risky; we might be thrown into an unknown rift! I need a moment to stabilize it before we can leave safely!"
Lynn's heart sank.
"As fast as possible!" He was concise, his wand already gripped tightly in his hand. The chill brought by Peters Jolt showed no signs of fading.
Lynn's gaze swept across the empty ancient brick chamber like a searchlight.
The sticky sensation of being watched from all directions made him very uncomfortable, as if countless eyes were evaluating their prey from the shadows.
Rumble—!!!
Suddenly, without warning, an incredibly violent earthquake struck!
The scenery before Lynn changed abruptly.
The yellow sand beneath his feet churned as if boiling, the brick walls emitted overwhelmed cracking sounds, and sand and soil rained down from the dome.
Following that came a sharp, ear-splitting whistle cutting through the air!
Lynn snapped his head up and saw that the space where the rock dome had been was now replaced by a thick, writhing sea of blood.
At the center of that sea, a massive bloody fist, large enough to fill his entire field of vision and carrying aura of total destruction, smashed down toward the area where he and Levi stood like a falling meteor!
Before the fist even arrived, the terrifying wind pressure forced a huge crater into the yellow sand below. Lynn felt his breath hitch as his robes were blown tight against his body, flapping loudly.
Bang—!!!!
The deafening impact seemed to make the entire Sand Corridor tremble. The massive bloody fist struck solidly where Lynn had been standing just a moment earlier.
In an instant, with the point of impact as the center, a peerlessly violent energy shockwave expanded wildly in a spherical shape.
The sand-brick walls that had stood for a thousand years disintegrated instantly like brittle biscuits before this purely crushing force, turning into the finest dust!
Everywhere the shockwave passed, everything was leveled and pulverized!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The aftershocks echoed and superimposed back and forth within the enclosed space, triggering a series of dull, thunderous secondary explosions.
The sand and brick dust eroded by the blood fist's energy, mixed with lingering magic, rose into eerie giant red mushroom clouds that filled the entire space, blotting out the sky.
After completing this destructive strike, the massive bloody fist slowly dissipated, turning back into flowing bloody energy that swirled upward.
As the dust and blood mist gradually settled, a terrifying crater dozens of meters wide and several meters deep was revealed. The sand and stone at the bottom and edges of the pit appeared glass-like, having been melted by high temperature and pressure before rapidly cooling.
Following the source of the attack, the swirling blood energy flowed upward—
There, in the blood-mist-shrouded air, floated an indescribable monster, slowly flapping a pair of massive wings.
It had a disproportionately large Goblin head with eyes burning with greedy blood-red flames. Sharp, slender Vampire-like fangs protruded from its mouth, dripping corrosive saliva.
Its body was massive, covered in coarse fur and patches of scales, with bulging muscles that vaguely resembled a Werewolf's torso. Its limbs were disproportionately thick, like those of a Troll. Its fingertips ended in pitch-black claws that were difficult to identify at a glance. On its back was a pair of massive Dragon-like wings covered in bone spurs and tattered membranes; every flap brought a foul, bloody wind.
This was clearly a deformed creation formed by forcibly stitching and fusing the characteristics of multiple magical creatures. For now, it could only be called—the Patchwork Monster.
"Pah!"
A sound of disgusted spitting rang out from the edge of the giant crater where the dust had not yet fully settled. Lynn's figure slowly walked out from within, revealing himself.
However, the current Lynn was a completely different person from before!
Behind his back, a pair of brilliant light wings, condensed almost into solid form, had unfurled.
The light wings were woven from flames and flowing light, with star-like glimmers swirling at the edges. With every slight flap, they shed warm and holy light particles, looking completely out of place in the surrounding environment.
Between his brows, a fiery-red mark resembling a Phoenix feather had appeared.
Even more striking were his eyes—his pupils had turned into sharp gold-red vertical slits, his gaze cold and piercing.
His entire body was enveloped in a layer of constantly flowing gold-red liquid. The surface of this "liquid" shimmered with ripples; it looked soft, yet it firmly blocked out all incoming dust, unable to taint him in the slightest.
"Master," Levi's voice rang directly in Lynn's heart, "this isn't the place we were just in. I can't hold this form for long; we must end this quickly."
Lynn nodded slightly, indicating he understood.
His gold-red vertical pupils stared fixedly at the Patchwork Monster in the air, which emitted an extremely uncomfortable aura.
Lynn spoke, his voice carrying a strange reverb throughout the space. "Are you the one they mentioned... the 'Goblin Priest' that needs to be resurrected?"
The Patchwork Monster in the air looked down at the "little thing" that had survived its full-strength strike and undergone such a massive transformation.
For the first time, a change that could be called an "expression" appeared on its Goblin face—a hideous look filled with extreme longing.
"A new... magical creature? Such pure... powerful vitality... perfect... so perfect! You are far more suitable to become a sacrifice for my return to this world... than those inferior alchemical creations and mortal blood!"
Before the words had fully fallen, the blood-red light in the monster's eyes flared violently. Its Troll-like arm rose once more as the surrounding blood energy converged frantically.
The Dragon wings on its back flapped violently, and its massive body displayed an incredible speed completely inconsistent with its size. Carrying a bloody wind and terrifying pressure, it lunged straight toward Lynn.
The brilliant light wings behind Lynn were naturally not just for decoration. As his thoughts moved, the flames and starlight flowing through the wings suddenly retracted inward, as if concentrating infinite light and heat into a single point, and then—
Bang!!!!!
A terrifying sonic boom echoed as the sound barrier was instantly shattered and the air violently displaced by extreme speed! With Lynn's original position as the center, a clearly visible milky-white ring of compressed air surged outward, violently pushing aside the unsettled dust and the remnants of the blood-red mushroom clouds!
Lynn's figure had already disappeared from sight.
The extreme speed created an effect akin to teleportation. Almost at the exact moment the sonic boom rang out, he appeared like a gold-red lightning bolt tearing through the sky, manifesting directly above the massive monster.
Time seemed to freeze for an instant.
Suspended in mid-air, Lynn's expression remained cold. Facing the monster's head, which was beginning to lift in shock and fury, he directly raised the arm enveloped in gold-red liquid.
Fingers spread, palm facing downward.
"Screech—!"
A clear and majestic Phoenix cry rang out from his palm!
Crackle! Sizzle—!!
Dazzling lightning first flickered between his fingers. Then, an even more blazing gold-red fire rose from beneath the skin of his palm, instantly intertwining with the lightning.
Finally, within the small space of Lynn's palm, it condensed into a gold-red lightning sphere no larger than a fist.
Inside the lightning sphere, countless miniature sparks capable of tearing through space danced around the edges.
Lynn gently pushed his outstretched palm forward.
"Go."
