The Vampire didn't speak; it raised its head, its eyes locking onto Lynn with a deathly stare.
At the indentation on its chest where it had been struck by the Horned Beast's Impact, a faint squirming sound could be heard. Dark red blood-light flowed through the wound, and flesh began to grow and knit together at a speed visible to the naked eye.
In the blink of an eye, that trauma—which would have left an ordinary person incapacitated—had mostly healed, leaving only a tattered robe and a few traces of blood.
But the price it paid was also obvious: its already pale face was now completely devoid of color, and the dark blue-black network of veins beneath its skin was clearly visible.
It opened its mouth and let out a sharp, inhuman screech!
"Hiss—aaah—!!!"
Layer upon layer of visible dark red ripples suddenly radiated outward from it as the center!
The air seemed like a disturbed water surface; wherever the ripples passed, fallen leaves were instantly pulverized, and fine cracks were carved into the surfaces of tree trunks.
This wasn't a simple magical impact, but a dual-layered attack capable of shattering eardrums, disturbing the mind, and even making blood boil and flow in reverse.
Lynn had been alert the moment it raised its head, and he quickly tapped his wand near his ear.
An invisible barrier instantly blocked his hearing, isolating the sonic attack, while the remaining ripples were held back by the Shield Charm.
Even so, he still felt a wave of tightness in his chest, and his blood flow accelerated slightly.
Without the slightest hesitation, while the aftershocks of the Vampire's screech had yet to dissipate, Lynn's wand was already aimed at it, and a beam of green light burst through the air!
"Avada Kedavra!"
The green light struck the Vampire's chest with precision.
However, the expected scene of life being instantly extinguished did not occur.
The Vampire's body only shook violently, and an unnatural green glow flashed across its skin before dimming.
It seemed to feel nothing; the impact of the Killing Curse only appeared to make its movements slightly sluggish. A low "he-he" sound came from its throat, and it suddenly thrust its hands forward!
This time, it wasn't just scattered splashes of blood.
A large amount of thick, crimson blood seeped from its palms and even from beneath the skin of its arms. This blood didn't drip; instead, it rapidly converged in the air, instantly swelling into a hideous pillar of blood that lunged toward Lynn with a pungent stench!
Alarm bells rang in Lynn's mind.
In the materials he had browsed in the library, there had never been a record of a Vampire possessing such bizarre long-range attack methods.
Traditional Vampires relied more on supernatural speed, strength, fangs, and claws, perhaps supplemented by some innate magic for mind-clouding or blood manipulation. Half-blood Vampires who used wands were more like Wizards.
The thing in front of him had an extremely eerie way of attacking.
Not daring to be overconfident, Lynn flicked his wand forward rapidly:
"Torrential Impact!"
A violent, azure jet of water erupted from his wand, carrying immense force as it met the incoming blood python head-on!
Boom!
Water and blood collided violently!
A continuous sound of intense friction and erosion echoed. Blue and red intertwined and crashed; water and blood foam splattered everywhere. The two forces stalemated in the center of the clearing, eroding and canceling each other out. The blood pillar tried to corrode through the water pillar, while the torrent constantly washed away and diluted the blood.
In that moment of stalemate, Lynn's empty left hand suddenly spread its fingers and made a grasping motion to the side!
"Thunder Summoning!"
The air around him was instantly filled with the crackle of static electricity. The night sky above a small patch of the forest suddenly grew darker, with faint electrical snakes flickering within.
In the next instant, a dazzling bolt of lightning struck down from above, hitting the head of the Vampire—who was still maintaining the blood pillar—with perfect precision!
Crackle—!!!
Thunder boomed! The Vampire's entire head was enveloped in a blinding blue-white electrical glow, and blue smoke rose from it. Its body went into violent spasms, and its output for maintaining the blood pillar clearly began to falter.
However, the Vampire still did not let out a cry of pain.
After the lightning strike, the top of its head was charred and its flesh torn open, but what flowed from the wound wasn't ordinary blood; it was a thick, blackened, bizarre liquid mixed with who-knows-what.
This "blood" flowed down its charred cheeks and dripped onto the ground with a sizzling, corrosive sound. As this black "blood" flowed out, the Vampire's entire aura seemed to wither significantly.
Lynn seized the opportunity to increase his power. The balance was broken, and the water pillar began to push toward the Vampire at a speed visible to the naked eye!
Buzz—buzz—buzz—!!!
Right at the Vampire's moment of crisis, an incongruous mechanical hum suddenly came from within its body! The sound was muffled, like some precision instrument running at overload.
The Vampire's eyes, which had previously only glowed red, now flashed with a piercing crimson light.
Beep—beep—beep—Boom!
After a series of tones resembling an alarm or a countdown, accompanied by a deafening boom, the Vampire's entire body suddenly exploded!
But it wasn't blown to pieces; instead, it transformed into a thick, churning mist of blood!
This blood mist instantly contracted into a small stream, like an arrow leaving a bow. It no longer attacked Lynn but fled frantically toward the deeper parts of the Forbidden Forest!
Its speed was far beyond any movement capability it had shown before, transforming almost into a streak of blood.
"Trying to run?!" Lynn's gaze sharpened.
The opponent's methods were bizarre, its origins unknown, and it had seen him use an Unforgivable Curse. He absolutely could not let it get away!
He reacted extremely quickly, snapping his wrist as his wand traced a trajectory toward the front of the fleeing bloodline:
"Orb of Water!"
The water pillar that had been clashing with the blood pillar—now having lost its target as the opponent turned into mist—instantly collapsed and reorganized in the air!
Countless streams of water, like living tentacles, rapidly intertwined and converged ahead of and around the blood mist's escape path. In the blink of an eye, they formed a massive deep-blue water sphere cage, firmly trapping the small stream of blood mist that was trying to slip through the gaps between the trees!
The blood mist lunged left and right, frantically slamming against the inner walls of the water prison.
Every impact caused the surface of the water prison to ripple violently and emit a hissing, corrosive sound.
Water is both soft and hard; it is particularly effective for trapping enemies.
Not only did the blood mist's collisions fail to break a hole, but with every contact with the water, it was continuously washed and diluted. Its volume began to slowly shrink, and its escape momentum was completely halted.
Before long, the blood mist seemed unable to maintain its pure mist state. Under the confinement and washing of the water prison, its struggle weakened more and more, and it began to involuntarily condense toward the center.
In just a few breaths, the churning blood mist gathered once more, revealing the Vampire's form again.
It slowly turned around. Its eyes no longer flashed red, seemingly extinguished with the interruption of the mist-escape ability, leaving only hollow sockets staring fixedly at Lynn through the undulating water wall.
After a long time, its lips, stained with black blood, moved slightly, and it finally spoke its first words:
"Kid... I... remember you. Your scent... your magic..." It paused, as if gathering its final strength.
"I will definitely... find you."
As soon as it finished speaking, the last faint spark of life in its eyes vanished completely. Following that, the body re-condensed from the blood mist seemed to have all its vitality and support drained away instantly; it didn't collapse or dissipate, but rapidly shriveled.
Skin collapsed against bone, becoming dry and brittle; muscle fibers visibly lost moisture, turning into shriveled cords, and its originally tall stature shrank drastically.
In less than five seconds, a complete "Vampire" had lost all traces of presence within the water prison, turning into a shriveled, empty shell.
Lynn frowned deeply and waved his wand, dispelling the water prison.
With a splash, the water collapsed to the ground, and the lightweight, shriveled shell fell with it, making a dull thud.
